APPENDIX-FISH As the Netherlands is close too the sea, the Dutch people eat a lot of fish.
Many fishes are only for sale in specialized ‘fish shops’.
• SalmonYou can get salmon in every supermarket. It is served cold most of the time.
• HerringSomething more typical in Dutch culture. It contains a lot of Vitamin D .Herring is similar too Cod. Most herring you will find is either smoked or pickled.It is also served cold.
• TunaYou can find Tuna in every supermarket. It is served cold most of the time. It is used too add in salads.
• AnchovyVery very salty! Also used in salads or on top of pizza napolitana.
• MusselsThe Netherlands are very famous for their mussels. You can buy it in every supermarket. Mussels are cooked before served. Don’t eat the shell!
