1. INT. HALLWAY – EVENING

FADE IN:

1. LS - LAURA BECKER opens her apartment door.

Cut to:2. LS - She’s a young woman just back from a day of work, still wearing her heels and work clothes with

Cut to:3. ECU - her name badge pinned on.

Cut to:4. TILTING MS - She drops her handbag the moment she steps inside,

Cut to:5. CU - drops her phone and keys with USB drive key ring into a bowl next to the door.

Cut to:6. LS - Turns on the lights and sighs.

Cut to:7. MS - She stands up a bit straighter.

2. INT. FRONTROOM - EVENING

Cut to:8/9. PANNING LS - Walks into the room, sits down in a chair

Cut to:10. CU - and takes off her heels.

3. INT. KITCHEN - EVENING

Cut to:11. MS - Walks into the kitchen barefoot,

Cut to:12. INSIDE FRIDGE CU - opening the fridge.

Cut to:13. MS - Laura plates a meal of fish, vegetables and rice.

4. INT. FRONTROOM - EVENING

Cut to:14/15. CU/POV – She puts her plate on the table, reads the day’s news in the paper,

5. INT. KITCHEN - EVENING

Cut to:16.POV - puts all her dishes on the counter.

6. BEDROOM - EVENING

Cut to:17. TIL/PAN LS - She enters her bedroom and

Cut to:18. CU - changes into her running shoes.

7. INT. HALLWAY - EVENING

Cut to:19. LS - She returns to the hallway/living room grabs her keys and closes the door when she leaves.

Cut to:20. CU - We watch the doorknob, waiting for something to happen.

Cut to:21. CU - The door opens again, revealing Laura.

Cut to:22. LS - She picks up her phone, plugs in the headphones,

Cut to:23. CU - selects a song and the music starts.

Cut to:24. MS – Laura walks out the door again

8. EXT. WOODS – EVENING

Cut to:1. SIDE MLS - Laura runs through the woods, breathing easily. It’s the start of her run.

Cut to:2. BACK MS - Her ponytail sways back and forth in the rhythm of her steps.

Cut to:3. SIDE CU - She looks relaxed.

Cut to:4. SIDE LS - Her profile is highlighted against the dark woods, in the background something or someone moves.

Cut to:5. LS - It seems to be following her.

Cut to:6. MLS - A long coat, hat and scarf prevent identification.

Cut to:7. FORWARD FRONT MS - The space seems to darken and close in on Laura, their unsuspecting victim. The music changes and Laura starts to breath more heavily.

Cut to:8. FRONT MLS - Another person now seems to be following her from behind.

Cut to:9. ECU - Her eyes are still trained on the way ahead. She does not notice her stalkers.

Cut to:10. SIDE LS - The light slowly fades from the environment.

Cut to:11. POV - The man who was followed her from the side comes closer, near the road now.

12. FRONT LS- Behind her the unidentifiable man seems to get closer, too.

Cut to:13. FRONT CU - As Laura closes her eyes to take an extra deep breath,

Cut to:14. POV - a large male hand in a glove reaches out for her shoulder.

Cut to:15. CU - Laura is still unaware.

Cut to:16. SIDE MCU - The hand does not quite reach her.

ACT TWO

9. INT. LOCKED ROOM – TIME UNKNOWN

FADE IN:

1. CU-Laura blinks awake slowly-LOW ANGLE

Cut to:2/3. MS/POV-She looks around her and finds herself in a room without windows with a table in front of her.

Cut to:4. MS-She shakes her head to clear it.

Cut to:5. CU-Her hands are bound behind her back, against and uncomfortable looking chair.

Cut to:6. LS-The room around her is bare; she looks puzzled. She tries to move her hands.

Cut to:7. MCU-Her eyes widen with the realisation that she’s tied up.

Cut to:8. ECU-Her breathing speeds up.

LAURALET ME OUT! You can’t keep me here.Let me GO!

Cut to:9. MS-Her body thrashes violently against the chair she is bound to.

Cut to:10/11. MCU/CU-Her feet leave the floor only to hit the ground again, hard-TILT UP-Her hair starts to fall in front of her face, having come loos from her ponytail.

Cut to:12. MS-She slumps down again, her energy has left her.

LAURA (CONT’D)(softly)

You can’t do this to me.There are laws against this.

Cut to:13. CU - She whimpers with a held back sob. She has realized she is defeated. No amount of crying will get her out of this situation. Her breathing slows down again, until she’s almost breathing normally. A soft sniffle can be heard.

Cut to:14. LS - She starts rocking back and forth, talking to herself.

LAURA (CONT’D)(soflty)

It will be alright. No use in crying.

She stops rocking back and forth in increments, until finally she sits still, with her head still hanging forward.

Cut to:15. CU - She continues talking to herself.

LAURA (CONT’D)(soflty)

They just made a mistake, nothing to worry about-HIGH ANGLE

Cut to:16. MS - She takes a deep breath and looks up. The room is almost empty.

Cut to:17. POV - Her focus is drawn to the speaker and microphone on the table in front of her.

Cut to:18/19.MCU/POV - She eyes them both before turning her attention to the door.

Cut to:20. MS - She shifts in her chair to get more comfortable.

LAURA (CONT’D)(softly)

Hello? Is anyone there?

Cut to:21. MCU - She bends forwards toward the microphone.

LAURA (CONT’D)(louder)

Hello?! Anyone there?You do know that kidnappingis a crime, right?

Cut to:22. CU - A crackling sound comes from the speaker.

Cut to:23. LS - Laura moves back,

Cut to:24. ECU - biting her lip.

Cut to:25. OSS - It stays silent for about 4 seconds. The speaker crackles again before someone speaks. It makes Laura jump in her seat.

MALE #1So you are finally awake.Took you long enough!

Cut to:26. CU - Laura starts to panic again. She fidgets with her bound wrists.

Cut to:27. CU - Her feet have slowly started tapping against the cold concrete floor.

Cut to:28. CU - The speaker continues the crackle softly; Laura regards it. No other words seem to be coming from it.

Cut to:29. LS - Laura thrashes against the chair as she tries to break her bonds, but it is of no use.

Cut to:30. CU - We see her bonds strain against the force she is exerting on it.

Cut to:31. MS - LAURA

(softly)Just let me go…

Defeated, Laura is close to tears.

Cut to:32. LS - The speaker crackles on.

MALE #1 (CONT’D)You and I both know that we cannot let you go; no matterhow much you beg and plead.There is far too much at stake.

Laura is still fiddling with her bounds.

Cut to:33. MCU - LAURA

But I don’t even know why I’mhere in the first place!

MALE #2Man, they really are good atthe lying and acting thing.We should put that in the report.

MALE #1Shhh, I’m trying to questionher. Don’t interrupt me, you idiot!

(to himself)Why do I always get stuck withthe idiot?

34. CU - Laura raises her eyebrows. The men don’t seem to be coordinating that well, making the situation a lot more dangerous.

Cut to:35. CU - Laura’s feet start tapping a faster rhythm.

MALE #2Hey! I heard that!

Cut to:36. ECU - A small smile forms on Laura’s face,

Cut to:37. MS - tears still close to shedding. Man 1 ignores his new recruit.

MALE #1As I was saying, we cannotlet you go until you give us the password.

A crease forms on Laura’s forehead.

Cut to:38. CU - Her feet stop tapping and shuffle against the ground as the things of what they mean.

Cut to:39. ECU - She is still flexing her fingers to keep the circulation to her hands going.

Cut to:40. CU - LAURA

What password? What the heckare you talking about?

MALE #1Miss Anderson, just drop theact. The password for the USB driveof course!

Cut to:41. MS - Laura interrupts

LAURAMiss Anderson? Who is Miss Anderson?

MALE #1(irritated)

Drop. The. Freaking. Act.

MALE #2(interrupting)

Yeah! Drop it! Now tell us! We know you have it!

Cut to:42. CU - Laura silently raises her eyebrow, looking amused and confused.

Cut to:43. CU - Her feet stay solidly on the floor.

Cut to:44. CU - Through the speaker we hear someone getting hit against the back of the head.

MALE #1(even more irritated)

I told you to shut your trap!(calmly)

Miss Anderson, we both know your USB drive contains somevery important codes that willchange the world as we know it.

(pause)Now, kindly give us the password.

Cut to:45. SIDE LS - She looks down at her feet which have started tapping again.

Cut to:46. BACK MS - She’s wringing the hands behind her back,

Cut to:47. SIDE MS - shifts in her seat and

Cut to:48. FRONT MS - finally looks up to speak again.

LAURAI’d rather not.

MALE #1(angry)

Do I need to explain to youwhat happens if you don’t cooperate? It would be quitegraphic, I can promise you!

Cut to:49. SIDE CU - Laura’s eyes widen and her mouth opens.

Cut to:50. LS - Her hands clench into fists behind her back,

Cut to:51. SIDE CU - the tapping of her feet suddenly stops.

Cut to:52. FRONT MS - Her breathing has started to speed up again.

MALE #1(Loudly)

Now if you please, Miss Anderson!

Cut to:53. FRONT MS - Laura sit’s up a little bit straighter. Anger, now that’s something she knows how to deal with.

LAURAWhat will happen to me whenI’ve told you?

MALE #1

(sweetly)We might let you go.

Cut to:54. BACK MS - Her hands relax, her shoulders sag a bit.

Cut to:55. SIDE LS - She looks down again.

LAURA(to herself)

Alright then, it’s your onlychance to get out of this mess.

MALE #1You were saying?

LAURA(slightly louder)

Alright, I’ll tell you.The password is Ceasar101, witha capital C.

MALE #1(Softly to #2)

Ceasar101… Don’t forget the capitalletter.

10. INT. COMPUTER BAY – TIME UNKNOWN

Cut to:1. MLS - An official looking computer screen with a password window situated in the middle, the cursor blinking. Another screen shows us a video feed of Laura’s room.

Cut to:2. MCU - A pair of hands on the keyboard typing in Ceasar101.

ACT THREE

11. INT. LOCKED ROOM – TIME UNKNOWN

1. LS - Laura is fidgeting again, trying to get her hands free.

CUT TO: 2. POV - Her head turns to look behind her to see how she’s doing.

CUT TO:3. MCU - Murmuring from the speaker makes her look up.

CUT TO:4. CU - Her hands still again.

CUT TO:5. LS OF SPEAKER

MALE #2(softly to #1)

Sir, I think we have a problem.

MALE #1(to #2)

What is it?CUT TO:6. SIDE LS - Laura leans in closer to the speaker, as far as her hands will allow her.

CUT TO:7. CU – Her feet have are silently shuffling on the floor, trying to bring her closer by moving the chair.

CUT TO:8. LS OF SPEAKERS

MALE #2Sir, these are not the documents…

It’s all cat pictures…

INTERCUT:9. MCU OF LAURA

MALE #1(softly to #2)

You’ve got to be kidding me.CUT TO:11. MCU - Reassured, Laura begins to try and free herself again.

CUT TO:12. CU OF HANDS - She’s not very successful.

CUT TO:13. LS OF LAURA AND SPEAKERS

MALE #2(softly to #1)

Sadly sir, I’m not…

MALE #1Let me have a look.

12. INT. COMPUTER BAY – TIME UNKNOWN

CUT TO:1. ANGLED LS

CUT TO:2. ANGLED CU - The computer screen is shown again, this time completely filled with cute/funny pictures of cats.

13. INT. LOCKED ROOM – TIME UNKNOWN

CUT TO:1. LS - Laura looks around the room again.

CUT TO:2. SIDE LS - She bends forward to hear better.

CUT TO:3. OSS - We hear the pacing of Male #1 through the microphone. It suddenly stops as he speaks again, standing closer to the microphone.

CUT TO:4. CU OF SPEAKERS

MALE #1 (CONT’D)(angrily to #2)

Tell the others we have a problem.

CUT TO:5. LS - Laura sits up straight again and wiggles in her chair. She’s not entirely sure she wants to hear more. Her feet have started tapping again, drowning out part of the noise from the speaker. Interrupting might be the best option to keep them from harming her.

CUT TO:6. MCU

LAURAExcuse me, but I really need to pee.

Can you please untie me now?

CUT TO:7. CU OF SPEAKERS

MALE #1(extremely angry)

Shut up! I’ll deal with you later.

CUT TO:8. MS - The pacing starts up again. Laura concentrates more on getting untied herself.

CUT TO:9. POV – She’s watching the door and the speaker closely.

10. CU - Her feet are tapping an agitated rhythm and her nerves are on high alert.

CUT TO:11. LS OF SPEAKERS

MALE #1 (CONT’D)(to #2)

Tell them Anderson is still outthere with the drive. Get themto send a crew out there ASAP.

CUT TO:12. SIDE LS

MALE #2Sir, yes, Sir.

CUT TO:13. CU OF SPEAKERS

MALE #1As for you, Miss Cat lady…

CUT TO:14. MCU

What should we do with you?

14. INT. COMPUTER BAY – TIME UNKNOWN

CUT TO:15. OSS - A phone being dialled can be seen. The number is unclear, as is the person who will be getting the call. In the background the screen with the cat pictures changes to show us a virus upload.

CUT TO:16. ANLGED CU - It changes back to cat pictures after a few seconds.

15. INT. LOCKED ROOM – TIME UNKNOWN

CUT TO:17. LS - Inside the cell Laura is getting restless. Moving around on her seat, the rhythm of her feet picks up even more.

CUT TO:18. CU - Her hands are rhythmically clenching/unclenching.

CUT TO:19. LS OF SPEAKERS

MALE #2(mumbling)

... Let her go ... A team has beensent out for Anderson.

CUT TO:20. MCU - A smile appears on Laura’s face. She can almost taste her freedom.

CUT TO:21. LS - She’s wiggling in her chair, trying to relieve the pressure from her bladder. Her feet are stock still on the floor again. Her interest in the speaker has been renewed.

CUT TO:22. LS OF SPEAKERS

MALE #1(to #2)

Is that decision final?

MALE #2It is.

CUT TO:23. MS - More wiggling and shifting in the chair. Her hands are still moving to keep the blood flowing, but she’s not longer worried about getting loose.

CUT TO:24. POV - She sends an eager look toward the door, waiting for it to open.

Male #1(to #2)

Alright then, get all thiscleaned up so we can get going.

26. OSS

(to Laura)The door should open presently;

we apologize for theinconvenience. We will bereleasing you shortly.

CUT TO:27. MCU - The word inconvenience ignites Laura’s anger.

CUT TO:28. SIDE LS - She forgets her hands behind her back and tries to stand up, only to be pulled down again by her bonds. All her anger is targeted at the speaker and microphone.

CUT TO:29. MCU

LAURA(loudly)

Inconvenience?! Inconvenience?! You kidnapped me!That is not an inconvenience.

That is a crime!

She takes a deep breath to continue, trying to lean forward even more, when the man interrupts her tirade.

CUT TO:30. SIDE LS

MALE #1Calm down.(sweetly)

We’re letting you go, you should be

CUT TO:31. MCU OF LAURA

8. INT. HALLWAY – TIME UNKNOWN

optional[1A. MS OF MAN AT COMPUTER

INTERCUT:2A. MCU OF HAND ON DESK – Other man puts a knife on the desk next to the hand, which then picks it up.

CUT TO:3A. MS OF MAN AT COMPUTER – He stands up and camera pans as he walks towards the door. He puts a hand on the door handle.

CUT TO:4A. CU OF DOOR HANDLE – The man opens the door]

CUT TO:1B. MS - The door to the locked room opens; a knife can be seen in the person’s hand as he opens the door with his other hand. This might not end well.

15. INT. COMPUTER BAY – TIME UNKNOWN

1. LS OF COMPUTER AT ANGLE

CUT TO:2. CU OF COMPUTER AT ANGLE - The virus download reaches 100%. The text ‘Access to all systems’ shows boldly on the screen. The screen goes back to showing cat pictures.

FADE OUT
