The Salvation Army Center of Hope. Located two miles north of Uptown Charlotte, the Center of Hope sleeps an average of 300 women and children every night.

The Shoes4Kids mission is to make a difference in the health and life of underserved and under privileged children by providing them with a new pair of athletic shoes.

I want to thank Shoes4Kids and the Shoe Crew or all that you did here at The Salvation Army Center of Hope, to see the kids waling around with smiles on there faces because they have a new pair of shoes is priceless. The extra shoes have been so much of help because we have been able to serve other kids that have came into the shelter with a new pair of shoes. Together, physical therapist, physical therapist assistants and physical therapy students are meeting the needs of children in desperate circumstances. S4K collected and distributed over 1250 pairs of new youth athletic shoes and socks to the children of Charlotte, NC.

I am thankful for all who made this effort so successful, particularly the American Physical Therapy Association, The North Carolina Chapter Physical Therapy Assoc. (APTA), DPT Program - Duke University, Durham, NC - , Kelsey Nix, DPT – Student (Duke Uni.), Pat Pande, PT (Free Your Feet,) New Balance Shoes and ALL the Shoe Crew Volunteers!
