1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1.1 Introduction
Shiva's product portfolio of resins, solutions and acrylic emulsions is one of the broadest in the industry and can
deliver a "total package" that is more sustainable, cost-efficient and meet customer preferences around the world.
We design resin systems with tomorrow's environmental requirements in mind, by an awareness of the need for
continuity, and by a strong sense of responsibility. We have an outstanding sustainability record in polymers that
we continue to improve each day.
At Shiva we create products with better technology that helps the printing and packaging industries and meet
specific needs for ecologically friendly solutions without sacrificing functionality and performance.
1.2 Proposed Plant Features and Production Capacity

KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS | NOVEMBER 2019 8
1.4.1 Details of Effluent Treatment Plant
Combined effluent from process, washing and utilities from plant by gravity to be taken in inlet storage tank. Then it
will pass through Oil and grease trap to remove oil and grease. Then it will collect into equalization cum neutralization
tank where hydrated lime will add to increase PH to 10.5, then add alum to reduce PH to 8.5 and polyelectrolyte will
add to it.
Then treated water to be transferred to Primary settling tank to maximum removal of activated sludge from bottom.
Overflow from primary settling tank goes to 1st stage aeration tank. Settled sludge with water to be collected in
Intermediate holding tank.
Overflow from 1st stage aeration tank is transferred to secondary setting tank to remove remaining activated sludge
from this stage. clearer water to be overflowed and goes to Secondary aeration to for effluent polishing and
ascertaining optimized Biodegradation. Settled sludge with water further to be collected in intermediated holding
tank.
Clear water further transfers to final settle tank to get complete removal of activated sludge from water. Whatever
settled sludge with water further to be collected in intermediated holding tank.
Clear water from final settling tank to be collected in intermediate storage tank. Now these waters are further taken
for PSF & ACF Filtration. Filtered Effluent will be stored in final tank till it is analyzed for COD, TDS & PH. Final Treated
effluent to be send to EICL for final disposal.

MFG. PLANT AT VILLAGE KARAKHADI, PADRA, VADODARA, GUJARAT SITE ANALYSIS
KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS | NOVEMBER 2019 17
4 SITE ANALYSIS
4.1 Connectivity
The study area is well connected by roads to Padra.
One nearest Railway stations are available from the site. Vadodara (30.40 Kms away).
4.2 Land Form, Land Use and Land ownership
The total plot area of the proposed unit will be 26133 m2. The landuse of the project site is industrial.
4.3 Topography (along with map)
The Vadodara district can be divided in two main geomorphic units – the eastern hilly, medium to high relief terrain
and the western plain area. The eastern portion of the district comprises the ChhotaUdepur, Jambugam and
Nasvaditalukas. The hilly areas have two types of topography. In the north there are irregular hills and ridges with

KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS | NOVEMBER 2019 20
5.5.2 Fire-fighting system
Fire protection system will be designed considering the requirements at the site & vendor recommendations. Fire-
fighting system will among other things consist of:
1. Fire Hydrant Hose System.
External Yard Hydrant System.
Fire Escape Hydrant with Hose reel system wherever the building has more than one floor.
2. Automatic Sprinkler System for RM Ware House (Solids), FG Storage & Admin Block.
3. Automatic Water Spray System
4. Portable fire extinguishers for Entire Plant.
5. Pumping system for Fire Fighting as per Indian Standard.
6. Static Water Storage tank capacity as per Indian Standard.
Foam is also considered at high hazard areas, unloading & storage
5.5.3 Storm water management plan
Storm water drains will be provided and Storm water from the entire plot will be collected through network of storm
drains. Most of storm water from plot area will be collected in the rainwater harvesting structures/recharge wells
provided for better utilization of available rainwater. The excess storm water will be discharged through the storm
water drainage facility provided in the industrial complex.
5.5.4 Rainwater harvesting system
The rain water harvesting system design will be based on the plot area & statutory requirements. Rainwater from the
roofs will be discharged directly into catch basins to avoid the flooding into the surrounding areas. From the catch
basins the rain water flows through underground pipes to recharging pits for harvesting. The over flow from recharge
pits shall be connected to storm water drain. The rainwater harvesting arrangement helps in replenishing the
underground water column.

MFG. PLANT AT VILLAGE KARAKHADI, PADRA, VADODARA, GUJARAT ANALYSIS OF PROPOSAL
KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS | NOVEMBER 2019 25
9 ANALYSIS OF PROPOSAL
9.1 Financial and Social Benefits with special emphasis on the benefit to the local people including
tribal population, if any, in the area.
Due to proposed project, there will be development of communication facilities in the area. In the nearby plant area,
the skilled/semi-skilled employees and the managerial supervisory personnel will stay.
The plant site area will be equipped with sufficient infrastructural facilities including drinking water, toilets, sanitation
facilities, health centres etc.
During operation, plant will generate direct and indirect employment. The preference will be given for local population
for employment in the semi-skilled and unskilled category. Indirect employment is created by the plant for supply of
daily domestic goods, loading/unloading operations etc.
From the above analysis it would be clear that the project is attractive and would bring in high value addition to the
feedstock thereby benefiting the industry and the nation. Project has excellent connectivity through Road and Railway.
