ShipConsole Simplifies Oracle Shipping Execuon for Elkay Manufacturing Case Study Background • Elkay started in 1920 and is sll owned by founding family • Currently employs over 3,000 employees • Primary manufacturing takes place in USA with facilies in Mexico and China to serve regional markets • Main product lines include plumbing products, wood products and food service products • Elkay implemented ShipConsole in 6 distribuon centers spread across the USA shipping approximately 1000 packages per day • Elkay’s distribuon centers ship finished goods to retailers and direct end users in both domesc and internaonal markets Key Challenges & Business Drivers • Off-the-Shelf Soluon: Elkay needed a market-proven soluon for Oracle shipping execuon that integrated Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 with freight carriers including UPS and FedEx • Easy to Implement: Elkay was in the middle of CRP1 of their R12 implementaon and needed to have a soluon in place within 2 – 3 months in order to meet their go-live schedule. • Easy to Use: Since their shippers were new to R12, Elkay wanted a simple user interface so the shippers could maximize producvity and minimize me navigang the shipping execuon forms in Oracle • Easy to Maintain: Elkay wanted a soluon that was validated by Oracle, so that maintenance and compliance would be handled by the soſtware vendor for future versions of EBS • Rate Shopping from EBS: Elkay wanted to include rate shopping from EBS as part of the overall soluon.
