We had a blessed celebration of Christ’s birth as a family and as a church. There were some moments of sadness as we recalled my mother’s homegoing on Christmas eve of last year. But we rejoice in the memory of her service for her Lord and joyful countenance radiating the Savior. The children put on a program with singing and a small drama the Sunday before Christmas eve, and on Christmas eve we went as a church on Sunday afternoon to sing carols and give out handmade Christmas cards with a tract attached to the residents in a large nursing home facility. It was a blessing to be able to minister to these folk and give them the gospel. We were able to give out several hundred Christmas tracts before the Christmas parade in Cranbrook. These seemed to be well-received, and we pray that the Lord will bring some to Himself through them. We continue to work through the city door-to-door with the gospel. The lady we mentioned in our last update who had gone back to another church is back with the exclamation “I’m glad to be home!” We praise the Lord for His working in her life. We are thankful that another lady that has struggled with addictions and attended in the past contacted us this past Sunday desiring to come. We are praying the Lord will give her complete victory. Satan is attacking another family in the church, and they are struggling with a legal battle. Another family that came for a while has not been in attendance for some time. We are thankful for those that are faithful, though, and go forward! Our family is healthy so far this winter, and the children are busy with home-schooling and other activities. We have gone cross-country skiing and ice skating over the Christmas/New Year break. The weather has been snowy and cold through December with one week with a high of -5 F. This week has been a bit warmer, but we are still enjoying the fireplace in the evenings. We have started the process for trying to be invited to apply for landed-immigrant status. This will probably take some time. We have to qualify for a prospect list, be invited to apply, and then apply, and then be accepted. We want to thank each church and individual that sent us cards and/or gifts at Christmastime. What a blessing to have such caring partners in the ministry! Please be assured of our prayers for you as you labor in your place. Prayer Requests: -Souls to be saved in 2018 & the Lord’s empowerment for us to win them. -The Lord to add to Rocky Mountain Baptist Church of Cranbrook. -The young man I am counseling with trying to leave a cult. -The process for becoming landed immigrants to Canada. -The Lord’s protection on our family and the ministry here.
