For All to Discover…Explore and enjoy this corner of the Blackdown Hills, whatever your ability. With a choice of two easy-to-follow trails starting right here, what’s stopping you?
Welcome to Staple Hill
Viewpoint Walk
A short, easy walk is rewarded with breathtaking views that can sometimes stretch to the coast of Wales. Look too for the buzzards that soar serenely over Taunton Vale, and take in the rolling hills of the Quantocks and Mendips in the distance. This trail is built to the ‘Access for All’ standard, and is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, with regular resting points.
Staple Fitzpaine Herepath
Enjoy a full day’s walk, or half a day’s ride and let this long distance circular trail lead you to discover the secrets of these enigmatic hills. Whether on foot or horseback, experience the ‘people’s path’ for yourself. This trail is well sign-posted, but you will find the surface varies from gravelled paths, to woodland tracks and grassy field edges. A trail map and further information can be found at www.nerochescheme.org

‘Herepaths’ were originally Saxon trade and communication routes. ‘Herepath’ is Old English for ‘people’s path’. Several passed through the Neroche area, and we have adopted the name for the long distance routes we are developing.
