Dear Members, We are having a very exciting Spring! There have been many great events with the support of volunteers, members and the Advisory Board. We are in the process of developing a Mission Statement for the Center. We need to identify the purpose and what we stand for as a group. In the past, the Center has used the Park District Mission Statement which is “to provide safe and innovative parks and recreational opportunities.” The Vision Statement for the District is “Go beyond the expected!” The Mission Statement for the Center will give us clear direction and more of a focus. The Advisory Board and the members will be involved in this process. Staff appreciates everyone’s patience during the move to Rainbow Falls Community Center. It was nice to have a place to go to during the construction, but it is very nice to be back home in our familiar surroundings! The Customer Service Staff, Custodial Staff, the Parks Department, along with Greg and Karen have worked hard to make the change less challenging! We are still looking for volunteers for the reception desk and the gift shop. If you are interested in the reception desk, please see Greg Palace and for the gift shop, Karen Sederberg. Happy Spring and I look forward to seeing you soon! April Showers Bring May FlowersHello Sheila Ray Members!I hope everyone had a nice Easter. I would like to say that our Doggie Egg Hunt and Breakfast with the Bunny way back in March was a great success. Our April Avalon luncheon was a nice time to gather with our friends. Our Big Band Night has had a strong turnout for the past couple of months, let’s keep it up.

Our restaurant fundraisers in March/April brought out a lot of people. Please support our next fundraiser at Buona Beef on May 19th. In order to prevent the need to raise our membership dues and activity fees, we have recently increased our fundraising efforts.

Please do not forget to get your tickets for our Ambassadors performance on June 9th. We need you to clean out your closets or garages and bring in your donations to support our June 19th and 20th Rummage Sale. The Center hopes you will come to shop or volunteer, or bake for the Rummage Sale. Thank you to the guest speakers we have had in March and April from Alexian Brothers. Also, thank you to our volunteers for all of the time that you have spent to make our Center a great place to spend your day!Sincerely,Mary Leetzow, President
