Fifth Grade Shark Tank – Judging Template Judging Criteria: Category 1: Product Idea
• Is this a product that would be valuable and interesting to the students’ target market (Chick-‐fil-‐A employees who will be shopping over their lunch hour)?
• Have the students displayed creativity in developing this product (even if the product itself isn’t novel, have they found a way to brand it or differentiate it from the crowd)?
• Is the product feasible to produce, and will they be able to make as many products as they have budgeted to sell?
Category 2: Price and Budget Projections
• Is the budget prepared by the students rigorous and does it display attention to detail? • Has the team been intentional and thoughtful in setting their price (e.g., via market research and by
ensuring that price > cost of product)? • Does the budget seem realistic given the scope of the team’s business environment (e.g., selling over a
1.5-‐hour period at the Chick-‐fil-‐A Home Office)? Category 3: Promotional Strategy
• Is the promotional strategy comprehensive (e.g., multiple channels of promotion)? • Is the promotional strategy fun and exciting? • Does the promotional strategy stand out from the crowd?
