What’s your shared services background? e.g. What is your role within your SSC? How long have you

worked in shared services? What type of centre do you work in (Captive, Hybrid, Outsourced)?

“I’m currently in the role as Head of Group Operations for Getinge Group, which is a global function including shared services, purchasing and program management office.

Within Getinge, we work using a captive shared services structure with centres currently in Krakow, Poland for the EMEA region and San José, Costa Rica for the Americas region. We also have plans to establish a centre in Asia.”

How long have you been working in shared services and what was your path into

the industry?

“I have been in the shared services industry since 2003 and my entrance point into the industry was via the role as a SAP financial consultant and a finance performance management consultant.”

What is the best aspect of your role/what do you enjoy most about it?

“I really enjoy being part of a med-tech company which manufactures products that save lives across the globe everyday.

In addition, my role as the head of a global function supporting the business with great processes and service delivery, which enables them to focus on their customers is very rewarding.”

What are your three main goals

for the next 12 months?“1. Finalise the transition of SSC activities into our centres in Poland and Costa Rica.

2. Stablise our deliveries and create a great place to work for our talented co-workers in the shared service centres.

3. Make great progress with our efficiency initiative to make room for further scope increases and investments in processes and tools.”

Do you see any significant trends in shared services & outsourcing at the moment? And

how do you think this trend could change the industry (or is already changing it)?

“The main trend right now is for sure RPA (Robotics Process Automation) and it will have a really big impact on the shared services industry.

Shared services organisations will need tore-invent themselves into more value-adding and analytical services organisations.”
