Performing Arts News Years 1 & 2 This year we will be having a Stage One production. Our theme is focusing on many different cultures and nationalities and I was hoping for some communityinput. I'm looking for some music from different nationalities. If you can recommend any music from China, Spain, France, Africa, India and the Middle East, I would be very grateful. This music can be up beat and use its national language as the children will be dancing to it.

Thanks for your help, please see me if you can recommend any music.

After School Safety Reminders Bowral Street is now open to traffic.

The afternoon Pick Up Zone arrangements on Doncaster Avenue continue to be successful, with a marked improvement in traffic flow and student safety. To ensure that this continues, we ask that all members of the school community observe the following:

1. The Doncaster Gate (near the canteen) is ONLY

for students being collected in cars. Please do

NOT walk through this gate as it blocks access

for the students, impedes staff vision and slows

down the traffic flow. The exit gates for walking

families or those who have parked in the area

are Todman Avenue and Bowral St .

2. Please follow the requests or instructions of

staff who are supervising the pick up

arrangements. This is for the safety of all

students.

3. Please do not approach staff who are running

the Pick Up Zone to discuss your child, as they

are focused on ensuring that all students enter

vehicles safely. You are more than welcome to

wait until the end of their duty or make an

appointment for a more suitable time via the

school office.

An additional reminder: After school the playground equipment in Area 2 is reserved only for students who attend KPS OOSH and only when they have completed roll call and are being actively supervised by OOSH staff. All students are aware of this and are regularly reminded. However, we ask that all parents and caregivers support the safety of our students by moving your children away from the equipment.

They are all doing a wonderful job so far with lots of tasks being completed before 9am and at lunchtimes.

Book Club Issue 2 of Book Club will be sent home in Week 7. For new parents please see the information below as all orders and payments need to be made online.

Harmony Day

On Tuesday 21st March our school will be celebrating Harmony Day.

Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

It is a day for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common.

The central message for Harmony Day is that ‘everyone belongs’, reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness to all Australians.

We ask that children wear something orange. It could be a T-shirt, socks or ribbons in their hair.

Kindergarten and Year 1 Sock Puppets

Please note

All parents/caregivers and children have the right to feel safe at school. No parent/caregiver is to approach another adult (besides staff) or child at any time if a problem occurs. If you have a question or concern about issues at school, it must be taken to the class teacher, then an Assistant Principal, so that problems do not escalate and cause undue distress. Parents who do not follow these procedures may be required to remain outside the school premises to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all in our school community.
