In Cable Patt with larger needles, 32 sts and 28 rows = 4";

In Reverse Stockinette St Patt with larger needles, 20 sts and 28 rows = 4"

To save time, take time to check gauge.

Back

With smaller needles, CO 130 (138, 152, 166, 180) sts. Row 1 (RS): K1, *p2, k2; repeat from the * across, ending with p1.

Row 2: As Row 2.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures approximately 2 ½" from the beginning, ending after WS row.

Next Row (RS): Change to larger needles, work reverse stockinette st over first 13 (17, 24, 24, 31) sts, work Row 1 of Cable Pattern over middle 104 (104, 104, 118, 118) sts, work reverse stockinette st across to end the row.

Continue even in the patterns as established until the piece measures approximately 14 ½" from the begin-ning, ending after WS row.

Shape Neck Work across first 40 (42, 43, 50, 53) sts, join second ball of yarn and BO middle 26 sts, work to end row. Work both sides at once with separate balls of yarn and BO 5 sts each neck edge once, BO 4 sts each neck edge once, BO 2 sts each neck edge twice, then dec 1 st each neck edge every row twice—25 (27, 28, 35, 38) sts rem each side. Sleeves

With smaller needles, CO 44 sts.

Row 1 (RS): *K2, p2; repeat from the * across.

Row 2: As Row 1.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures approximately 2 ½" from the beginning, ending after WS row.

Change to larger needles, begin Reverse Stockinette St, and inc 1 st each side every 4 rows 0 (0, 0, 0, 5) times, every 6 rows 0 (0, 4, 16, 14) times, every 8 rows 3 (8, 10, 1, 0) times, then every 10 rows 8 (4, 0, 0, 0) times—66 (68, 72, 78, 82) sts.

Continue even until sleeve measures approx 18 ½" from beg, ending after WS row. Shape Cap BO 5 (6, 7, 7, 8) sts at beg of next two rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row 11 (15, 17, 14, 17) times, then every row 6 (2, 1, 7, 5) times—22 sts remain.

Finishing

Sew right shoulder seam.

Neckband

With smaller needles, pick up and knit 130 sts along neck opening.

Next Row (WS): *P2, k2; repeat from the * across, ending with p2.

Next Row: *K2, p2; repeat from the * across, ending with k2.

Repeat the last 2 rows until the neckband measures approximately 3 ½" from the beginning.

BO in pattern.

Sew left shoulder seam, including side of neckband. Set in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams.
