ObjectivesCreate a permanent structure, located in a building in the old city with
qualified staff that can practically assist, support and stimulate the city of Bosra and its inhabitants on their way to sustainable development and improvement of living condition.
Requirements– Start with doable and visible action, take time to create trust
among inhabitants
– Good equipment, reliable office hours
– Create reputation of being accountable = take on what you can manage and deliver on time
The objectives and requirements
Short-term
• Connect to the inhabitants, inform about the project SHAMS and other projects in the future, collect feedback provide space for specific activities, ad.es learning english
• Develop ideas for development and act wherever it is possible and in alignment with the authorities, immediately, and/or activate people among the inhabitants capable and willing to do it
Medium- term
• Plan and organise minor works and/or project meetings; organise visitors from European universities that come for study tour
• Develop and manage new projects, create new funds for Bosra

The deliverables within Shams and beyond
During the duration of the project Shams•Have set up the Office and have it open regularly
•Provide information in arabic about the project and the initiatives,
•Have the staff (and other people) trained
•Have created a database of feasible funding possibilities for Bosra
•Develop a new project and submit it to a donor organisation
•Coordinate and make the link project activities and government initiatives
•Support the municipality to elaborate the financial reports of SHAMS
•Find financing for the following years - lobbying
Beyond SHAMS
Implement new projects, constantly produce new initiatives
Coordinate the numerous visitors and volunteer groups coming from Europe
Monitor the implementation of the SEA strategic plan
Monitor the rehabilitation works, advise municipality on new trends
