Dear Friends & Family,

This holiday season, the Shadow Buddies will celebrate 15 years of delivering buddies

and toys to medically challenged children and their siblings during the 2010 holiday.

Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of these special children and we want

to make their holiday much brighter by providing support from Shadow Buddies and

the Community. It’s important to include family members and we understand the

need for siblingd to be involved when a brother or sister is in the hopsital. Being sick

especially during the holidays is difficult. Its been a tradition of the Shadow Buddies

to adopt hospitals and organizations who treat children. This year, hospitals are

recieving the Anniversary buddy “Brooks & Bows”. For the second year in a row, we

are extremly honored to have the support for our toy drive from the KC Originals

Restaurant Association. We work with them throughout the year and they have been

There once lived a boy named Chase. Chase loved

to play at the park. He got to go there once a day,

only after his mom saw that he had finished his

homework and dinner.

Chase had to pay very close attention to what he

ate everyday. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes

at age 6.

When Chase eats his meals, he has to keep track of

his carbohydrate. Keeping track will let him know

how much insulin he will have

to

take later.

As long as Chase makes his yearly trips to the

doctor, and follows instructions on how to take his

insulin, Chase will live a happy normal life.
