WhyShadeFund?Working forests and farmland sustainably managed create jobs

and conserve the land and water we all depend on and enjoy. Yet

over 26 million acres an area the size of Ohio are expected to

disappear by 2030.

Entrepreneurs with forest-friendly enterprises are critical to

sustaining our resources and the communities that depend on them.

The ShadeFund helps keep rural communities vibrant by supporting

green business.

0urLoans Entrepreneurs apply at www.shadefund.org.

Businesses must be located in the US and contribute to thesustainable use of local natural resources.

Loans from $2,500 to $50,000. Interest rates and terms will varydepending on:

Stage of the business (age and track record)

Amount & purpose of the loan (working capital, equipment)

Borrowers credit history

Available collateral and guarantees

Howarebusinessesfunded?Qualified ShadeFund borrowers will be featured onwww.shadefund.org, where individual lenders can direct support tothe business(es) of their choice. As the entrepreneur repays theloan, the capital will be redeployed to other green entrepreneurs.Interest on ShadeFund loans will be retained to defray the costs of

the program. Contributions to ShadeFund are taxdeductible.
