BiographyBiographySir Ernest Henry Shackleton was born in Ireland,1874. He was the second one to

go to Antarctica and sailed through typhoons, hurricanes and tornadoes to save crew on Elephant Island. He had 10 siblings and was raised by a single

parent ( his father). Ernest was married to Emily Shackleton and had two children. They were called Beatrice Shackleton and Tom Shackleton.

In 1901- 1902 , he went on The Discovery of Antarctic Expedition.

Then in 1907- 1909, he went in the Nimrod Expedition. Later in 1909

when he returned in January 16th and he went on the

Mount Erebus Expedition. After that in 1914-1916, they went on the Endurance Expedition After a long time of Expeditions, they had a party named the“ Ross sea party”. Then in 1921-1922 they went on the Rowett expedition but while

they were sailing back Shackleton died of a sudden heart attack in 1922.

when he left 12 men on Elephant Island, he sailed through the roughest seas , typhoons and tornados to find his men.

2.He was an INQUIRER because he asked a lot of questions and explored around the world to answer his questions.

3.He was also a THINKER because he solved how to get his ship out of the frozen water of Antarctica.

4. He was a PRINCIPLED man because he always followed the rules and what he was told to do by the government.
