Our Contestants:

Andrew Baena & Dallas Turner

We will be performing metal covers of top pop songs! Andrew will be playing guitar and

Dallas will be playing drums. Andrew is a student at SFU's Surrey Campus in the School of

Interactive Art and Technology (SIAT). Often we cover top pop songs and put them on

YouTube, but this will be our first time ever playing these covers live!

Thea & Kellen

Not available

Kevin Liu

I am 18 years old and I am a first year business student. Graduated from Moscrop Secondary,

I have been dancing ever since grade 8. So as of this year, I'm on my 6th year of dancing. I

originally started dancing simply because it looked cool and I wanted to look cool. Without

Page 7: SFU Got Talent 2015

SFU’s Got Talent 2015 Events Package Page 7

any experience or whatsoever I joined my high schools junior dance team and started

practicing. It wasn’t until later in my senior year that I realized that I was actually kind of

good at dancing. So I started to take it more seriously and began to search for outside of

school training. Since then, I have competed in many local high school competitions and

have even won several awards. I have also competed in Canadian Hip Hop International

Prelims and now I am currently training at Studio 604. My main goal with dance is to one day

be able to teach others how to look cool when dancing and share the same passion that I

have to others.

Rupendra

I wrote my first song around 8 years ago. I also love soccer and photography. I am studying

economics currently.

Jessie Tran

Page 8: SFU Got Talent 2015

SFU’s Got Talent 2015 Events Package Page 8

Jessie Tran enjoys her downtime dancing and hopes she can make everyone smile by doing

what she loves. She also wishes turtles were appreciated more because they're such a good

symbol of patience and wisdom.

Vivi Chen

I started playing the piano when i was 4. Back to the first day I learned the piano, my

enlightened piano teacher realized that I got a wider hand and longer fingers comparing to

others and she encouraged me to learn the piano, and I did. But soon, I was tired of being

forced to practice the piano by my mom, so I decided to give it up. Until several years later,

by accident, I heard the BELL by liszt, it really touched me, at the same day, I restarted to

play the piano. Since then I am eager to play the piano and fall in love with music. Every

reward is a driving power to me. More rewards i get, I love the piano more and more. So, I

joined SFU orchestra. Besides that, I love playing flute, dancing, travelling and sleeping. I

love to try the new things. Today, the first song I'll be playing is WALTZ B IN MINOR by

Chopin. This song is the one that I played first time when I restarted playing the piano, so I

have a lot of memories with this song.

Louise Ho

Page 9: SFU Got Talent 2015

SFU’s Got Talent 2015 Events Package Page 9

My name is Louise Ho! I will be singing and playing the guitar. I'm eighteen years old and

over the years I've become more interested in music and performing. One of the

instruments that I play frequently is the guitar, and I've been playing it when I have the time

since I was in Gr. 4. With singing, I did it as a little kid (such as in school and a song every now

and then at home) and my interest in it increased as I grew older; around 12-14 years old

(pre-teen years, essentially). I love music, and being able to get the opportunity to do what I

love is something that makes me very happy!

Enoch, Douglas, and Isaiah (Banana Boys Club)

These three boys have no idea what they're doing in life. But there's one thing they know,

their love for music and performance is what keeps them going. If you take it away, they will

die. But seriously, they will die. On another note, here's a little bit more detail about these

three clueless boys.

Douglas is a freestyle dancer who started off dancing in the SFU Hip Hop competitive crew

F.A.K, and has since then moved on to making a name for himself. He peed his pants from

stage fright before. We hope he doesn't it again.

Isaiah grew up like the typical Asian kid, learning piano and violin at an early age. He grew to

love the violin, and is now playing for weddings and other performances. By performances

we don't mean music.

Enoch loves to play jazz piano and jam with people. He's the current president of the SFU

Recital Society and encourages members to step out of their comfort zone and perform. He

has played piano for so long, that sometimes when he plays too hard he turns into a piano.

Neelam Khare

Neelam Khare is an emerging artist with a passion for singing and songwriting. For the past

two years she has been learning music at Soulful Melody while majoring in communications

at SFU. SFU's Got Talent is the first competition she has entered and is excited to be

performing a cover medley accompanied by Sharon Bryson on the piano.

Alia Romeih

Alia is in first year engineering. Her first talent show audition was in grade 10 after many of

her friends pushed her to sing Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.” Although that didn’t get her

into the show, a year later she sang on the same stage and hasn’t stopped singing ever

since.... literally... she sings all the time. Instead of submitting endless lab reports, Alia

Page 11: SFU Got Talent 2015

procrastinates through singing in between study sessions and at times down the hallway.

Singing If I ain't got you by Alicia Keys…

believes: "We all shine together", so supporting, & establishing relationships w/ other artists

in the local music scene in vancouver, is essential for all of our growth. She is very excited, &

feels very thankful to be a part of this year’s SFU's Got Talent Competition.

Gio Levy

As much as Gio Levy is a musician, he is also a philanthropist. Not of monetary value, but of

words melodically sung. "Sexy Dance Pop" would be one way to describe Gio's most current

singles. Having written hundreds of songs since the birth of his first tune, his writing and

production style has transformed and continues to evolve. The mission behind every

performance and every song is to make an impact capture the audience melodically while

telling a story. After having released two EP's, 'When Boy Meets Girl(s)' and 'LIPS', Gio is as

ambitious as ever, releasing several singles on Soundcloud, free for download. The

investment he's putting towards creating music is out of pure love of the art. His desire for

worldwide reach far outweighs the desire for financial profit. Whether it makes money or

not, Gio's mantra has always been to "Keep making amazing music and the rest will follow.

Jason Bempong

Page 13: SFU Got Talent 2015

Founder of sleepless minds movement, Jason has been inspiring the Grassroots dance

movement of Vancouver with his style and personality. Working with talented dancers in the

city, the young performer and entrepreneur has an eye for talent.

Guest Performers:

DKAY

Born and raised in Alberta, Dkay’s a Vancouver transplant after receiving a university athletic

scholarship in track and field. A born competitor Dkay carries himself well beyond his 20

years of age. His successful athletic background provided him with much of the work ethic

and discipline that he approaches his music with. He began his music career recording

mixtapes he self-released with friends at his high school in Calgary. He quickly rose to the

top of the Calgary hip hop scene and began to catch the ears of many of his adoring female

fans through his relationship focused raps with an edge.

Boriz Safi

Page 14: SFU Got Talent 2015

SFU’s Got Talent 2015 Events Package Page 14

Hailed for his charisma and beloved for his trademark 'radio voice', Boriz S. (a.k.a MC

Daydreamer) originated as part of a hip hip duo titled BB & G-Wize in his late teens. At age

20 he was picked up by a starting promotion company after witnessing a rap performance in

Gastown as an MC.

MC Daydreamer then founded production team and band RobotSexMusic hosting live

shows and running the dance/raves at Anime Revolution. Specializing in a Hip Hop/EDM/ and

Top 40 styles, Boriz continues his tenure with RobotSexMusic and hopes to strengthen his

network, provide his gift of stage charisma to hype the party people and help build a bigger-

better party scene in Vancouver.

He has begun working on a full length album as Daydreamer under RobotSexMusic with two

upcoming music video releases this season to launch the hype. This album will go back to his

hip hop roots which will contain more organic elements than the electronic based projects

he had released within the last two years.
