Seven Secrets to Success Study AreasThe Mesabi Range College Library has lots of places for you to study.

There are Quiet Study areas, small group and large group study areas, and areas to stretch out and relax.


The Librarys instructional area


computer tables


and study carrels on the east end of the Library


are designated as Quiet Study areas.


This means that loud talking or laughing, and loud audio is prohibited!


Please be considerate of your fellow students and keep your conversations quiet


Turn your cell phones to vibrate


and take your phone conversations out of the Library.


If you use audio on the computers, or if you are using the TV/DVD players, headphones are required.


Food and beverages are allowed in the Library with some restrictions. Beverages must be in covered containers.


Food is allowed if it is limited to a light snack


no messy or fast foods, please!


Students are asked to please put garbage and wrappers in the proper containers.


Dont hesitate to let Library staff know if someone or a group is exhibiting disruptive behavior in the Quiet Study areas!


We want the Library to be an enjoyable place to study for everyone!


The Library offers two study rooms where you can be a little noisy.


Room L119, which also houses our Native American Resources, is a small study room that accommodates 1-3 people comfortably and is equipped with a TV, VCR and DVD player. The room is available on a first-come basis.


Room L122 is a Large Group Study and Presentation Practice room for groups of 3 or more students.


There are tables to spread your work out on, a whiteboard, a computer, a large screen monitor and other equipment to help you create and practice group presentations.


Campus groups and clubs can use this room as well.


Use of L122 is on a scheduled basis


so please plan ahead and talk to your Librarian about reserving the room for use by your group.


Just want to stretch out and unwind? The Library lounge area offers comfortable living room seating where you can study, read, relax or socialize with friends!
