SMTP Server SetupEnsure outgoing email deliverySMTP services are used by various modules and ensure that outgoing emails are sent to, and reach, the desired audience.

Two fold delivery methodNetwork: Emails are sent using network mail delivery through the specified SMTPRemoteHost/ SMTPRemotePort.

Pickup Directory from IIS: Emails are written to the default local IIS pickup directory.

SMTP Server Setup ParametersHost: This is the host name or IP address of your mail server. You may normally find this out from you ISP or web host.

Port: This is the SMTP port of your mail server. This is usually 25.

Authorization Required: Specify whether SMTP requires authorization or not.

Enable SSL: Check to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to encrypt the SMTP connection.

Outgoing Mail Server: Mention the fully qualified name of your outgoing mail server. If you are using local IIS, then ‘localhost’ value can be used.

‘From’ Email Address for Emails Sent from a Web Store ‘From’ email hierarchy

‘From’ email hierarchy has been defined to populate the ‘From’ email address in various emails sent from various channels. The ‘From’ email can be configured for a specific channel, or for each template at the customer class level, or within the email template master setup.

‘From’ email population‘From’ email defined in channel setup takes highest precedence.If ‘From’ email is not defined in channel setup, but is defined in a customer class email preference, it is populated using the ‘From’ email address defined for that customer class.If ‘From’ email is neither defined in channel setup nor in a customer class email preference, it is populated using the ‘From’ email address defined in the email template master.

‘From’ email hierarchy‘From’ email hierarchy has also been defined to populate ‘From’ email hierarchy for emails sent from the Manager Panel.

The ‘From’ email address can be defaulted to a sales representative’s email address present in the User Security Module.Customer class email preference (or email template master as applicable) allows you to specify which email templates should use the logged in CSR’s email address vs. a centralized email address.
