Getting started with the
Zinio appWellington City Libraries / wcl.govt.nz
You will need: a Zinio account and a mobile device that is connected to the web

-A standard magazine will use 20-30mb of data.
-Some magazines, like National Geographic, can use around 100mb of data.
-Borrowing is unlimited, although your app can only keep 500 titles at a time in its library. Your device will overwrite older magazines as you download new ones to conserve device memory.
-There are no due dates, charges, or late fees. You could theoretically keep these magazines forever.
-You will need to use a browser to borrow from the Wellington City Libraries collection and then open your Zinio app to read.

Common devices Zinio is compatible with include: IOS, Android, Windows 8, Blackberry & Kindle Fire.
These screenshots are taken on IOS however the process is similar on most devices.

Stage One: Downloading the appDepending on your device type open your App (IOS), Google Play (Android), Windows (mobile or desktop), or Blackberry (mobile) store.

In the search field (you may need to tap the magnifying glass) type “zinio”. It should be the top result.

You should have a result that looks similar to this. You can tap the image to read reviews or just tap your device’s version of “install”.
Zinio is free.

Once your device has installed Zinio go to your apps menu.
Zinio should appear and look similar to this. Some devices will display a blue Z logo.

Depending on your device and its orientation your screen should now look very similar to this one.

Scan the page for the word “settings” or a cog symbol and press it.

Scan for the blue “Sign In” button and tap it.

Enter your details from when you previously set up your Zinio account.
Press “Sign In”.

Close the settings and look for these buttons. Some devices will only show the symbols. You want the “book” one (some devices may call it “library”) – tap it.

If connected to the internet the app will automatically sync with your online account. To borrow more items you will need to use your browser using wcl.govt.nz/zinio.
Note these items have an arrow over them – this means they are not downloaded yet. Tap the arrow to download one.

To turn the page swipe the screen left or right.
To bring up the menu options tap the center of the screen – you can share to social media, bookmark pages, return to your app library and more.
