1. Prerequisites

1.1. Assign Portal Roles

Please assign the following two Portal Roles to your Portal User:

com.sap.ip.bi.business_explorer_showcasecom.sap.ip.bi.business_planning_showcase

(pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/Roles/…)

Tipp: Search for „*busi*“ to find the Portal Roles

2. ABAP to Java Communication 2.1. Report RSPOR_SETUP (step 1 and 2)

Please ensure that step 1 and 2 of report RSPOR_SETUP are green. This means that communication and SSO from ABAP to Java is working.

1. Start transaction SE382. Enter RSPOR_SETUP as Program3. Press Execute4. Choose correct RFC Destination using the value help5. Choose correct Portal SID using the value help6. Press Execute

3. ABAP to Java Single Sign-On (SSO)3.1. Report RSPOR_SETUP (step 12)

Please ensure that step 1 2 of report RSPOR_SETUP is green. This means that SSO from ABAP to Java is working. The RFC communication between Java and ABAP will be check implicitly.

7. Continue the check above by clicking on Status 12 to display details about step 12

4. Java to ABAP Communication4.1. Connection Test with System Object in Portal

Please perform the following steps to check the System Object in the Portal:

1. Open iView System Administration / System Configuration / System Landscape2. Choose System Object with the path portal_content/systemlandscape/SAP_BW3. Choose Connection Tests4. Enable WAS Connection Test5. Enable Connector Connection Test6. Press Test to perform connection tests

Important

If you upgraded your system, please ensure that you configured the new properties in SAP NetWeaver 2004s (e.g. property BI Master System). See note 917950 about details of new properties of System Object (topic Additional Information).

5. Java to ABAP Single Sign-On (SSO)

Single Sign-On (SSO) from Java to ABAP could be check with 6.2 Launch BEx Broadcaster (Web Runtime SAP BW 3.5).

6. Functionality Tests6.1. Launch BEx Web Analyzer (Web Runtime SAP NetWeaver 2004s)

This test allows checking communication and SSO for the BEx Web Runtime in SAP NetWeaver 2004s:

ABAP to Java (RFC/SSO)Java to ABAP (http/RFC/SSO)

iView in PortalBusiness Intelligence / Business Explorer / BEx Web Analyzer

No logon should be required (if yes, there is a problem with SSO from Java to ABAP) No error message should appear

In case of errors or warnings, please search for notes using the message text

6.2. Launch BEx Broadcaster (Web Runtime SAP BW 3.5)

This test allows checking communication and SSO for the SAP BW 3.5 version of the BEx Web Runtime:

Java to ABAP (http/SSO)

iView in PortalBusiness Intelligence / Business Explorer / BEx Broadcaster

No logon should be required (if yes, there is a problem with SSO from Java to ABAP)

6.3. Launch Planning Modeler

This test allows checking communication and SSO for the BI integrated Planning:Java to ABAP (WebDynpro JCo RFC/SSO)

iView in PortalBusiness Intelligence / Business Planning / Planning Modeler

1. Choose InfoProvider in dropdown box2. Enter “*” as search text3. Press button Start

6.4. Validate and execute Standard Web Template in BI

This test will check the ABAP to Java and Java to ABAP communication. Additionally, this check will ensure that the new Java-based BEx Web runtime is working.

1. Run Report RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70 (with transaction SE38)2. Enter Template ID 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN3. Choose Program / Execute

4. Choose Analyse / Validate

Message “Query does not exist in the BI System (Qbject QU)” is okay Message “Mapping for Service item_validation_service for Object CONTEXT_MENU_ITEM missing.” is okay

Web Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN is a special Web Template where the Data Provider (Query) is assigned dynamically during runtime. Therefore these message are just warnings and not critical during designtime.

5. Choose Analyse / Execute in Debug Mode

A Web Browser is opened and you have to logon to the Portal. Finally, an empty Analysis Pattern (without data) should appear.

6.5. Information Broadcasting

This test allows checking communication and SSO for the SAP BW 3.5 version of the BEx Web Runtime:

Java to ABAP (http/SSO)

iView in PortalBusiness Intelligence / Business Explorer / BEx Broadcaster

In case warning “Session Management will not work!” appears, add domain to URL (see note 596698 and 654326 for details)

1. Press button Open2. Choose existing Web Template and press button Transfer3. Press button Create New Setting4. Choose Export to the Portal as Distribution Type (accept all other default settings)5. Press button Execute
