BT Tool Inspection, Care and Maintenance Guideline Brico Setting Tool Assemblies sizes 10 and 20 including the HTHP models require regular maintenance and care to provide optimum tool performance to operate in the tool designed working envelope. The setting tool assembly should be completely taken apart, thoroughly cleaned, visually inspected and completely redressed after each run in the well bore regardless of depth, bottom hole pressure or well bore temperature. All tool failures are the direct result of poorly maintained downhole tools. Note: The following chart should be used as a general guideline for periodically tool inspection.

Tool components and parts which have become worn, damaged or out of acceptable diameters should be recorded and replaced with new parts. When the maximum or minimum acceptable diameters are exceeded on any part or component of the setting tool then the part should be replaced. Use the following tool component diameters for tool inspection.
