Do you ever think about how the money you give to your church is spent? The money may help pay utility bills and staff salaries, or help fund ministries and missions efforts. What are some other ways the money is used? When we share our resources, we participate in carrying out the work God has for us. In Acts 11, we find the Antioch church giving to meet the needs of others.•Read Acts 11:27-28. A famine is "an extreme

shortage of food, usually caused by a lack of rain." A visiting prophet shared with the believers at Antioch that a famine was going to occur in the region of Judea. What images come to mind when you think about a famine? What initial thoughts and images do you think came to mind when the believers heard about the famine?

•Read verses 29-30. After hearing the news of the famine, what did the Antioch believers choose to do? Imagine how they felt knowing they could help the same people who brought the gospel to them in the first place! Paul and Barnabas were chosen to deliver the supplies to Judea.

•Read 2 Corinthians 9:7. How should we give? Giving to God should never be a burden to us. We should not give just so bad things won't happen to us either. Do you give God any of your time, money, and talents? Our giving to God should be an act of worship.
