Introduction Leader: God, come to our assistance. All: Lord, make haste to help us. Leader: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All: As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. Psalm 139 (Alternate the recitation of the verses.) (Leader) “O Lord, you search me and you know me, you know my resting and my rising, you discern my purpose from afar. You mark when I walk or when I lie down, all my ways lie open to you. (All) Before ever a word is on my tongue you know it, O Lord, through and through. Too wonderful for me, this knowledge, too high, beyond my reach. (Leader) O where can I flee from our spirit, or where can I flee from your face? If I climb the heavens, you are there. If I lie in the grave, you are there.

(All) If I take the wings of the dawn and dwell at the sea’s furthest end, even there your hand would lead me, your right hand would hold me fast. (Leader) If I say: ‘Let the darkness hide me and the light around me be night,’ even darkness is not dark for you, and the night is as clear as the day. (All) Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.” Concluding Prayer Leader: Father, creator of unfailing light, give that same light to those who call to you. May our lips praise you; our lives proclaim your goodness; our work give you honor; and our voices celebrate you forever. All: Amen.

Slowly read, take in, and reflect upon the following verses from the Gospel according to Saint John: 1:1-5. Reflection possibilities: • How is Jesus, the Word of God, a light for you? • At this present time, are you in some passage in

your life? • Are you experiencing some darkness in this

passage? • Have you been able to glimpse the light of Christ? If you are not in a passage at the present time, try to name one that you have experienced. Ask the same questions as above.

Regina Coeli (Prayer in honor of Mary during the Easter Season) (All) Queen of Heaven, rejoice, Alleluia! For He, whom you did merit to bear, Alleluia! Has risen as he said, Alleluia! Pray to God for us, Alleluia! Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, Alleluia! For the Lord has truly risen, Alleluia! (Leader) Let us pray: O God, who gave joy to the world by the resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech you, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, his Mother, we may attain the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.
