Community Central - Are You In? Have you created your Community Central account yet? More and more groups are using
Community Central to schedule events and communicate important information to our
members. Create your account today so you don't miss a thing! If you haven't set up an
account yet, you can request an activation email from the Community Central page on
the church website (CommunityUMChurch.com/community-central). To request a new
activation email, click "Sign Up" under the log-in boxes. You can also contact Kim Rugh
([email protected]) for help setting up an account.
What is Community Central and why do I need to be there? Community Central is the
web-based hub for everything going on at Community Church. It's where you can access
the church directory with contact information for staff, leadership and members. You can
easily update your own contact information, see calendars, group schedules, activities at
the church and even set-up online giving. You definitely want a Community Central account
so you don't miss out on any of the happenings at Community Church!
The Tech Team Needs You! Are you interested in serving behind-the-scenes in a vitally important ministry?
The Tech Team has openings and we will train you! After training, your time commitment
could be as little as 2 hours a month. We currently have a team of 25 incredible volunteers
that range in age from 13 to 72. They support every single ministry in this church in addition to
what you see on the weekends. To continue that support, we need to DOUBLE the size of
our team! You could help with live sound, projection, lighting, cameras, video production
and editing, screen graphics or equipment maintenance. You don't need to be a creative
type, an IT or AV professional. If you can focus on a task and are trainable we have a place
for you! For more information, contact Leigh Casale at [email protected]
or 724-396-4777 or fill out the Connect Card in your bulletin.
F.E.A.S.T. / February 7th / 3:30-6:30pm / Multi-Ministry Room Join us for F.E.A.S.T. from 3:30pm to 6:30pm! We will enjoy Chicken and Rice Casserole.
Check our website or Facebook page for updates or changes for our Wednesday meals.
Sage's Army Drug Awareness and Prevention Event / February 12th @ 7 pm The United Methodist Women would like to invite our church family to a special night,
Monday, February 12th at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. Guest speaker Carmen Capozzi will be
here to talk about Sage's Army. Carmen's son, Sage, was a promising young man who lost
his life to drug addiction. The Sage’s Army organization’s primary goal is to offer support,
guidance and encouragement to others who have also been affected by this spreading
epidemic. The meeting welcomes all attendees and would especially be helpful to families
and children. Hope to see you then!

Buy Soup, Support Local Missions! / February 10th & 11th! / After Services The United Methodist Women will be hosting our final Winter Soup Sale on February 11th &
12th in the MMR after all services. This will be our last soup sale until the fall, so don't miss
it! We'll have a large variety of soups in quart and pint size containers available for purchase,
along with complementary fresh bread!!! Absolutely delicious! Proceeds from these sales
support the UMW Local Missions. All of the proceeds from our Soup Sales go directly toward
blessing individuals within our own communities who are in need. Times are tough right now
for many of God's children and we are blessed to serve God in this way. We greatly
appreciate your support as you pick up a quart or pint of home made soup! It will warm your
soul to know the beauty of God's work is happening in our own community.
Lenten Bible Study / February 21st / 7-8:30pm / Sanctuary “Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine” a Study by Max Lucado.
One way to make Lent count this year is to do something special, something extra, like
getting into a Bible Study. Pastor John will lead a 6-week study that explores GRACE as the
Bible teaches it and as we can experience it. The classes will meet on Wednesdays from
7:00 to 8:30pm. The initial session is set for February 21, the location for each session is the
Sanctuary. The study will include a DVD presentation by well-known Christian teacher, Max
Lucado, then working through his study book, with conversation and inter-action with all the
participants. It promises to be an enlightening, faith-expanding experience. The books are
$10 each and will be available at the first session. For details or to sign up contact the church
office at 724-744-3413, email Pastor John at [email protected] or use the
Connect Card.

who wish to receive them.
Let’s begin this important season together, on Valentine’s Day, let’s gather to remember the
gift of God’s love, so clearly made known in the obedient life of Jesus. May we offer our love,
our Valentine to God, by making good use of this faith-deepening season. Be sure to begin

every weekend during Lent. Let’s make it count!

Building News Update
Progress rolls on! Some changes are very visible like the erection of the structure for our
sanctuary which will begin this month. Other changes are, literally, underground like the
construction of the storm water management system that began this week. Please pay close
attention in the parking lot as the traffic patterns have changed significantly. We haven’t lost
any parking spaces, but you can only enter the lot through the first two entrances on the left
(between the islands). There are now barricades that make the changes very clear.
Please pray that everyone visiting our church would be patient and understanding during
construction.
As you make your way into Community Church’s parking lot from Route 130, please
remember that there is still only ONE entrance into the campus from Route 130. We’ve always
had one entrance, and that has not changed with construction. We’ve noticed that some
people have been entering our campus from Route 130 closer to the Ministry House. That is
an EXIT ONLY location, and entering our campus near the Ministry House could cause
confusion, traffic congestion or even an accident. As always, we ask that you take your time,
pay attention to signs and use extreme caution in the parking lot.
Holy Land Trip Informational Meeting / February 12th / 7:00pm / Ministry House Have you ever considered walking where Jesus walked, or sailing on the Sea of Galilee, or
walking the streets of Old Jerusalem? What it would be like to visit the birthplace of Jesus, or
stand at the site of the crucifixion, or better still, the empty tomb? An opportunity to do these
things and much more is coming. Pastor John and Patsy Ciampa will lead a Holy Land Tour
early next year. The dates are January 21 – thru January 30, 2019. The cost from Pittsburgh is
approximately $3,300 per person. There will be an Informational Meeting for anyone interest-
ed on Monday, February 12 at 7:00P.M. in the Ministry House. There is no obligation, just come
and hear and see what this Pilgrimage is like. This event is open to anyone so please feel free
to invite relatives, neighbors and friends.
