We offer a 60mm to 1-1/4’Reducer bushing to adapt wheelsto other Profile Grinders.

The very slow wear characteristics of the CBN wheel insures more accurate knives, while CBN’s sharp, cool grinding action doesn’t burn the work piece and imparts a sharp cutting edge, making a better, longer lasting knife edge. It was found that by increasing wheel speed is advantageous to increasing wheel life. Our wheels come with a fine-grit bonded abrasive grain to improve surface finish by providing a micro-finish on high speed steel. The special bonding allows heat to dissipate more quickly and the cooler cutting action extends wheel life.

HARD-EDGE (OPTI) CORRUGATED BACK KNIFE STEEL


Knife Grinding Instructions The procedure is the same as on regular steel knives with a couple of exceptions. The best results are achieved when the knife is ground to a 45° or 50° bevel, in other words, a “blunt” bevel that leaves more knife material at the cutting edge. In addition, it is important to be careful not to chip the cutting edge as it is much harder than conventional tool steels.

Never grind or hone the face of Hard-Edge orOpti-Steel knives as this may remove ultra hardsurface of the knife.

A New Alternative To carbide Knives!


Designed primarily for use on plastic composites and othersynthetics, this steel can be used in short runs of MDF, longruns of local and exotic hardwoods, and hard-to-run-knottymaterial.

● Highly resistant to nicks created by wood acids● Reduces friction on the cutting edge, resulting in less heat and longer tool life● Offers an average production run up to 5 times longer than that of standard M2 HSS knives● Can be ground with standard vitrified and CBN grinding wheels

Because this is a coated steel, do not use abrasivestone to de-burr the ground knife. Use a piece ofwood or plastic.

This M2 HSS steel knife is “specially treated ” state-of-the-art process that produces an ultra-hard surface which, unlike coating, will not chip, flake, or peel. It is specially designed for natural woods where you want to obtain the finish of high-speed steel tooling, but want up to 50% or more longer life.

Feed Roller

STEEL-TOOTH FEED-ROLLERS

These conical-shaped rollers are made specifically to properly through-feed most dry materials.For superior gripping power, the teeth on the contact surface are located at an an-gle, withmaximum “tooth mark” indentation of only 3mm (1/8”) deep. The contact surface of the roller iscovered with a layer of hard chrome to provide longer roller life.

Alternatives to the tooth–feed rollers are the steel knurled rollers. These rollers are primarilydesigned for use when only scant material is being removed from the top surface of thework piece. The teeth on the contact surface are small diamond points, with a maximum“tooth mark” indentation of less than 1mm (1/32”) deep. As with the tooth feed rollers, thecontact surface of this roller is also covered with a layer of hard chrome.

Feed Roller

For high-speed, high wear applications we recommend the replaceable tire system. This system offers convenience and price economyof replaceable tires. After a one time purchase of the reusable metal steel hubs, the replaceable urethane tires offer a more economicaloption. Our replaceable urethane tires will fit the feed hubs on many moulders and planers currently in operation. Designed with 3 or 6bolt mounting holes to fit various hubs on moulders, etc. The sizes listed are stocked in 80A Durometer (others available). If the size youneed is not listed, please call or fax your dimensions. When ordering, be sure to specify the durometer desired.

Other sizes and hardness (durometer) is available on request. Stock standard is listed below.

Fluids




A special formula originally developed by Starrett to protect high precision equipment. M1 has been extensively in industrial manufacturing applications for many years. ASAP introduced M1 to the woodworking industry in 1992 as an alternative to other table lubricants. First and foremost, the formula when applied produces a micro-thin, air tight coating/film that simultaneously dries as it protects, avoids dirt, grime, etc, (that other “wet” lubricants actually attract.)

Water-based floropolymer and synthetic lubricant blend ideal for thin kerf saw blades and finger joint knives processing dried hardwoods suchas hickory, walnut, white oak, and ash. This will work well on regular gang ripsaws and narrow and wide band saws. It will remove ash resinand runs well on all hardwoods. Non flammable, biodegradable, no silicone, no odor and no health hazard. Generally used in a spray system.

We find Lubie® #3 to be very effective on all wide band saws, narrow band pallet saws, circular saws, finger joint knives and moulderknives. In addition:
