Parking Permits The City of Stonnington issues parking permits to residents with a disability who live within the municipality and have significant ambulatory or intellectual difficulties. There are two types of permits for disabled persons: • Category 1 (or blue) permits allow the vehicle to be parked in designated bays for disabled persons and allow twice the specified time in a time limited area. • Category 2 (or green) permits do not allow the vehicle to be parked in designated bays for disabled persons, however these permits do allow vehicles to be parked in a time limited area for twice the length of time specified. Disability Services Directory Council has produced a Disability Services Directory listing services that is likely to be used by those with a disability. For more information or to request a hardcopy of this directory, contact Council’s Disability Access Officer on 8290 1333. RECHARGE Scheme An initiative designed to improve accessibility and convenience for wheelchair and communication aid users, the RECHARGE Scheme alerts the public of power points which can be used to recharge mobility and communication devices. Identifiable by a circular ‘Recharge Point’ logo displayed out the front of businesses and at power points, affiliated locations are provided on this map. For further information or for RECHARGE locations in other precincts across Stonnington, contact Council’s Disability Access Officer on 8290 1333.
