CHILD CARE SERVICES VOL. 1 STABILIZATION GRANT UPDATES The current grant application period ended July 30th and we have over 2500 programs that applied for cycle 1 of the Child Care Services Stabilization Grant. We are beginning the process of reviewing all applications. Each program will recieve an email message (to the email address provided on the application) that informs them if their application has all the needed information to move forward or if additional information is needed. If you receive an email stating additional information is needed it will detail what information is missing along with a link to access your application. If your application is moving forward payment should be expected via mail within 2-4 weeks. The next grant cycle opens on October 1st. We will have a designated call center for grant support beginning September 13th. Additional information to come via the September newsletter.

OKDHS will continue to fund the following Covid-19 related interventions utilizing ARPAfunds through May 2022:• Child Care Subsidy benefits for employees of licensed child care regardless of family income• Additional absent days (minimum of 11 days attendance required each month) • Coverage of subsidy co-payment for families, paid directly to providers • Continuation of $5 added to subsidy rate per child per day based on attendance• All school-age children approved for the weekly rate• Business training resources for providers • Four stipends awarded to program staff with 30 hours of professional development (anincrease from two stipends)• Additional training opportunities through OU-CECPD at no cost to the workforce

examples, templates, and information that isorganized for both child care programs and

family child care homes. Feel free to use theseexamples and modify them to meet your uniqueneeds. In addition, you can link to the Reaching

for the Stars applications for both child careprograms and family child care homes in English

and Spanish. You may contact your localResource and Referral Agency if you needassistance in completing the application.

Caring for school-age children offers unique opportunities with different school holidays,start and stop dates, and other days when the regular school day may vary from the normal

schedule. We all know that children still need to have opportunities that allow them to bechallenged to learn new skills, have fun, and remain safe in group care. The links below offeryou resources to use in planning for the care of school-age children. It is important to limit

Child Care Services Quality Coaches are providing Pyramid Model training and coachingservices across the state. Coaching is a no-cost service to program directors, teachingstaff/caregivers.Coaches are available to provide support for caregivers as they implementquality teaching and administrative practices into their center, home, or classroom. The coachwill assist with identifying a goal, creating a plan and providing support each step of the way. What is Pyramid Model? The Pyramid Model provides the foundation for child care providers to develop teacherpractices needed to develop young children’s social and emotional skills and effectively addresschallenging behavior. These practices address relationships, environment, intentional teaching,and individualized supports. The Pyramid Model also provides support for administrativepractices.
