We do not have school on Monday September 4th because of Labor Day. We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday. Class photos and make-up picture day is Wednesday, September 6th. Remember students must be in regular uniform (not t-shirt day) for class photos. Check out our teacher spotlight this week – Did you know that Ava Joly scored a perfect 100 on our health inspec-tion. She is an amazing cafeteria manager and a cool person. We are so proud of our JPII Falcon Middle School football team who went 1-1 in the jamboree. Congratulations to all of our boys; many great tackles and plays. We are looking forward to more victories and awesome sportsmanship. We are looking forward to a great race from our JPII middle school cross country team. They have been putting in the miles and the victory is there’s to take! Don’t forget to check out our social media sites. We are constantly updating them with fun snips from the day. Different businesses have been wonderful in their support of our school. See attached flyers for some of the businesses that are ‘giving back’ when we patronize their business. Check out the attachments especially if you need a haircut or want delicious pizza. Check out our BASH website http://www.holyspiritbash.org/ Don’t forget to save the date (January 27th – Saturday) and make plans for a Wonka Golden Ticket kind of night.

We are trying to schedule another YPII class to be held here at Holy Spirit. We will let you know if we are able to se-cure a class. And with one final note for the week – the chiller is installed and everything is nice and cool! We are happy to report our three major projects are now complete. I hope everyone has a great week and a wonderful holiday weekend. Beth Mattingly Principal Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School “ …I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.” James 2:18b

Colors 4 Kids - BIG THANK YOU!!!

Toward the end of last school year, Colors 4 Kids led by Camille

Pike, a Holy Spirit 6th grader, collected over 15 boxes of gently

used school supplies from Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School,

St John the Baptist Catholic School, and Randolph School, and

Whitesburg Christian Academy.

These supplies were sorted with the help of several students: Morgan Almand (HS 6th grade), Maran-

da Almand (HS 5th grade), Natalie Mayer (HS 6th grade), Evie Mayer (HS 4th grade), and Sidney and

Sophia Smith (WCA 8th grade). They were then delivered to the Village of Promise, the Manna House,

and this year supplies were donated to a local Rotary Club sponsored organization that shipped school

supplies and used books to Uganda. The Village of Promise used the supplies right away for their sum-

mer program, the Children Defense Fund Freedom School, serving over 100 children. The Manna

House distributed supplies to children I need early August and the rest is on its way to Uganda. This

year, the participation of 2v additional schools, Randolph School and Whitesburg Christian Academy

allowed additional collection and the opportunity to expand the program.

We are inspired by your dedication and generosity. Your support has played a key role in the success

of this program.

Thank you!

Lighthouse Catholic Media:

Have you ever been asked Catholic questions at work, on the ball field, or at family gatherings? Have you ever been asked the reasons why Catholics do this or that or why Catholics believe what they believe? Most of us have been taught what we believe as Catholics, but we have trouble explaining why we believe it. Have you ever had trouble finding Catholic doctrine in the pages of Scripture? Would you like to be able to help your children embrace the Catholic Faith? Lighthouse Catholic Media was developed to do all of these things and more. By listening to Lighthouse CD’s, Catholics learn the faith well and are able to explain the reasons that we believe as we do. Catholics who avail of Lighthouse books, CD’s, and booklets rejoice in their Catholic faith and are able to evangelize others leading them into the Church. If you have never listened to a Lighthouse Catholic CD, try one today! The Light-house display is located just inside the front doors of the church.

Never before has the story of Our Lady been told like this. Be part of the incredible journey that begins before time itself, when Mary was only an Eternal Thought in the Mind of God, to her time on earth when she raised our Savior, to the unfolding of her role in the early Church, to the days when she made roses bloom on the hillsides of Mexico and a miraculous spring of water rise from the ground in Lourdes, to the day she made the sun dance at Fatima, and to today. Come discover:

Mary’s life in scripture and her role in God’s plan of salvation

Why Jesus gives us Mary as our own mother, why he crowned her Queen of Heaven, and what that means for us

Mary’s significant role after her earthly life in bringing souls to her Son and battling Satan in the world

How Mary is still active in our lives today, leading us to Jesus
