There is a requirement that one adult accompany each child 8 or 9 years old, one adult for every 5 children 10 to 11 years old, and one adult for each 7 youths 12 to 18 years old. Memorial Day ParadeThe American Legion in conjunction with the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan sponsors this one. Gale Henry Flynn chairs this event and will send a flyer around at our service unit meetings. She then contacts, Frank Allegro at: 359-5968, or in writing at: Tappan Memorial Post 1271, 123 Washington Street, Tappan, New York 10983. This is a very short parade and very good for the younger scouts.

St. Patrick’s Day ParadeThe Ancient Order of Hibernians in America sponsors this one. In order to participate you must fill out a questionnaire form. To obtain one call Mary O’ Sullivan at 725-3682. This parade requires that you be there at least an hour before the 1:30pm start. It is a lot of walking and often cold.
