OUR LEARNING AND ACHIEVEMENTS
KS2 Christmas Lanterns
KS2 students have been making their Christmas Lanterns and will be representing Seva School when they exhibit them in the Coventry Christmas Lantern Parade on Saturday 14th December. The Parade will start at 11am in the Lower Precinct by New Look and TJ Hughes on the ground floor. This is where the pupils will get their own Glowsticks to add to their Christmas Lanterns. Par-ents will parade with their child/children. We will walk up to Smithford Way where we will walk down towards West Orchards and loop back. We will then proceed down towards Sports Direct and Superdrug and again loop back. Finally we will proceed through Upper Precinct to Broadgate where we will meet the judges. The finalists will be announced around 1pm and asked to return on Sunday 15th December at 11.30am for the final. Winners will be announced at 2pm. Both days will be filled with fun and music for the whole family to enjoy.
Yr 10 Art Collage
This beautiful piece of work has been produced by stu-
dents in Yr 10S. It represents the Golden Temple in
Amritsar which is a city in the north western Indian
state of Punjab, India. It was originally designed to
celebrate Guru Ram Das Ji’s birthday as he was the
founder of the sacred site. The water that surrounds
the Golden Temple is a sacred pool known as Amristar
Sarovar meaning “Pool of Nectar”. Sikhs across the
world come to this sacred site to take a dip in the wa-
ter. The Ik Onkar is a symbol which appears at the be-
ginning of the Sikh scripture and means “One With
Everything”.
The Golden Temple is the holiest Gurdwara of the Sikh
religion.

OUR LEARNING AND ACHIEVEMENTS
EYFS Parent Workshop
On Wednesday 11th December we held a Parent Workshop for parents of pupils in Early Years to come into school and work with their child.
A huge thank you to all the parents who attended the family Christmas workshop. It was a great success, the children enjoyed working with you. It was a great opportunity for them to spend some time in EYFS and get a snap shot of their child’s working environment.
Remembering the Chaar Sahibzade
On Wednesday 4th December and 11th December some staff and Primary pupils have been doing some kirtan in remembrance of the Chaar Sahibzade during their lunchtime. The children pre-formed the ‘Satguru Nanak Paragateya’ shabad and recited the Anand Sahib.

This charity will deliver your dona-tions to these families in January. To support this appeal, if you have any unwanted gifts, new or in very good condition that you wish to donate, please send them into school with your child on Friday 10th January ready for the representatives to collect at the end of the day. Charity registered ref no: 1182084
Les Amis de Gambie
The children at the orphanage were very grateful for the school’s kind donations. Ms Grif-fiths will be visiting them in January and sharing Seva Schools good will with them.

‘Puss In Boots’ Pantomime Trip @ Belgrade Theatre
Friday 6th December 2019
Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 visited Belgrade Theatre to watch the Pantomime ‘Puss in Boots’. The performance was comical, entertaining and kept the audience en-gaged throughout.
The humorous actions of the characters had many of us in fits of giggles dur-ing the play and the dancing, singing and rapping seemed to be a popular choice for pupils’ favourite part of the performance.
Here a few comments from our pupils:
‘Fabulous!’
‘Very enjoyable.’
‘It was funny when the actors kept falling over.’
‘The audience interaction was great – we loved being involved.’
‘All the mystical parts were my favourite since they made the pantomime seem alive.’
‘Costumes were good.’
‘I loved the way actors made the children scream.’
‘It was all good.’
The rap was fun.’
‘It was perfect.’
‘Very entertaining – it was great being part of the audience.’
‘Baggy Bee was funny!’
‘The phone part was cool!’
‘There was nothing really bad about it.’
“All of it was my favourite because it was fast, funny and joyful.’
‘The banter on stage was good.’
