Service Excellence JIP

O&M Forum raised concerns regarding generic approaches to

scheduled maintenance (SM).

• SM is not currently optimised, annual service is not regularly

completed on time and this can lead to unplanned forced outages and

cost inefficiencies.

• Site specific characteristics mean that a generic approach to

scheduled maintenance may not be optimum.

• Knowledge sharing between sites does not happen at a detailed level.

Service Excellence JIP - Objectives

1. Baseline current practices and frequencies for scheduled

maintenance.

2. Identify areas of best practice, variability and opportunities to

implement bespoke approaches.

3. Identify gaps in knowledge and capability which need to be addressed.

4. Understand potential limitations to introducing changes to scope of

service and risk mitigation strategies.

5. Deliver a report to the JIP partners by Q2 2017 that provides a

baseline of the state of scheduled maintenance across the UK offshore

wind sector

6. Recommend future collaborative engineering projects aimed at

improving the quality and reducing the costs of scheduled

maintenance.
