The work triangle is one measure of efficiency
It is measure by drawing a line from the front center of range to the refrigerator to the sink and back to the range

Popular because it provides plenty of work space, is attractive, and easily joined to the dining room
The peninsula may be used as the cooking center, eating area, or food prep
Amount of traffic is reduced and work triangle is compact
Island Kitchen
It can be a modification of a straight line, L-shaped, and U-shaped
Island may house the sink, cooking center, or food preparation
Should be accessible from all sides At least four feet clearance allowed on all
sides of island

Any design works, counters need to be lowered
Toe space of 6” deep and 8” to 11” high is needed under cabinets
