Preconference day in a nutshell– Service Design Journey through World Design Capital- Nature: Get together, hands on, seeing Helsinki Metropolitan area, WDCH cooperation- Groups (max. 25 pers.) are sent trough different paths to workshops- Different groups go trough different paths and they meet in the evening in Get together.

About the workshops• Workshop of some real life challenge

– Each workshop is different by context, challenge and leader(s) expertise– Max. 25 person/workshop

• Can be divided into smaller groups just as the workshop leaders want

– Participants have varying backround and professional expertise (designers, different business skills, academic skills...)

– Workshops runtime 1h – 2h– Max. 3 workshops/workshop leader– In own location or location specified by Laurea staff– At least parts of the workshops will be filmed (if not opposed by participants &

leaders)• The film material will be used in the conference (Get together + Service Design Service

Design Bazaar) • The film material might also be used by World Design Capital Foundation (WDCH 2012)

– Each group has Laurea/Aalto staff member with them tio eliminate hazzle with navigation and time loss

different Service Design Bazaar kiosks or stands to encourage the participants to see and find out different angles to the topic– To blend research and practical
