electronic engine Control (eeC)Full-authority electronic engine control is standard on all models, providing full machine integration, enginehistoryandsystemprotection.Italsoworksin perfect unity with the electronic fuel injection system to provide quick and precise response to throttle movement. Finally, the EEC system is in constant communication with the transmission, regardless of which model you select, providing the ability to maintain a consistent travel speed, regardless of engine speed or vice versa.

A pair of switches on the right-hand console permit the operator to pre-set two engine speeds for instant recall. The +/- switch is used to pre-set thespeedsinincrementsof10rpm,independentof hand throttle position, while the A/B switch is used to recall the settings.

For infinite speed control and a new level of performance, productivity and efficiency, select one of the six MT500B TechStar models equipped with the legendary TechStar CVT (continuously variable transmission).TheAutoPowerVIandtheTechStarCVT transmissions both provide a standard top speed of 25-mph (40 km/h) and when packaged with the optional front-axle suspension, a top speed of32-mph(52km/h)isobtainable.The32-mph(52km/h)transportspeedis25to30percentfaster than the industry standard for this size tractor. responsive shuttle ControlRegardless of which transmission option you choose, you can depend on responsive shuttle shifting via a control lever on the left side of the steering column. You can even pre-set forward and reverse starting speeds and electronically adjust shuttle modulation sensitivity.

AutoPower VIBuilding on the success and reliability of the proven AutoPowerlegacy,theAutoPowerVIofferssixpowershift ratios that can be shifted under full load within four electro-hydraulically selected ranges for a total of 24 speeds in both forward and reverse.

UsingaspecialT-handlecontrollever,mountedonthe armrest console, the operator can manually changeboththeAutoPowerratioandthegearboxrange under load, without using the clutch. For AutoPowerratiochanges,simplymovethehandleforward or back to make pulse or sequential shifts through six ranges marked “A” through “F” (autopower ratios can also be changed with the power control lever).

Range changes under load are just as easy. Just depress the range button on the control handle while moving the lever forward or backward. That’s all there is to it.

The simple, straightforward procedure allows easy progression from minimum speed to maximum speed, and lets you quickly find the optimum balance of engine speed and travel speed for any type of job.

Six AutoPower ratios in each range means there’s seldom a need to change the range in the field. Maximum speed is also achieved at only 1,880 rpm on most models, for improved economy and reduced noise levels.

Power Mode

ThePowerModeprovidessteplesscharacteristicswhile putting the priority on engine speed and power. This allows the tractor to handle the heavy loads of tillage or hauling over varying terrain without concerns over engine lug-down.

economy Mode

When operating in Economy Mode, ratio changes are made at lower engine speeds, providing the operator with improved economy in light- duty applications.

Forager Mode

The Forager Mode allows the operator to maintain a specified engine speed, while using the foot pedal to control ground speed. This feature is ideal in applications like loader work, baling, or forage harvesting, which require a constant engine speed tomaintainhydraulicfloworasetPTOspeed.

engine supervisor Working in conjunction with the TechStar CVT, the Engine Supervisor automatically maintains desired travel speeds by adjusting the transmission ratio anytime engine speed is reduced. Travel speed is managed through a variability of engine rpm rangingfrom5to40percent.Iftheengineispulled down beyond the preselected range, the Engine Supervisor maintains engine control by reducing travel speed.

Once the tractor engine has recovered (lighter soil, reducedPTOloadordownwardslope),thetractorspeed returns to the initial setting. By maintaining travel speeds, Engine Supervisor allows the tractor to get more work done in a day.
