Jon-Eric says:“My ‘Getting Results in Business’ series is organized so that language is learned both through and for the sake of communication. Instead

of structuring each unit around a grammar topic with complex explanations and unrelated practice, all tasks are contextualized to relevant business themes like technology, teamwork, travel and leadership. You are by not expected to passively acquire language by reading and discussing it or by doing mechanical exercises, but rather you will learn by deducing the meaning of individual words and phrases as they encountered or grammatical rules prior to practicing the new forms. Each unit works toward a capstone ‘Case Study’ which you will engage in a role-play activity - typically a business meeting - that requires the use of the lexis, grammar, skills and expressions reviewed in the unit. The most appealing aspect of this course, however, is not the texts, dialogues or tasks, but that they cover the most important trends and issues of global business: the impact of the internet and social networking, the pending energy crisis and economic sustainability, changing markets and workforces, recent technological innovations and cross-cultural encounters.”
