About Us The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans, Serbs and their friends through planned projects, social and humanitarian activities in order to develop and foster better society for future generations and provide aid for underprivileged families in need. Although there are many humanitarian organizations and associations, help often doesn't reach the most jeopardized. Due to unnecessary administration, missing information and slow decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late to the final consumers, or not at all. It is a sad and embarrassing, but true fact that more than 18.000 children daily die around the world because of starvation and malnutrition. There, among us, the blind and deaf. We are witnesses of the bad demographic situation of our nation, decreasing natality, increasing number of singles, abortions, accelerated aging of

Ambitions

Our mission The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop better society for future generations. Why Serbs for Serbs? We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian people in togetherness and brotherhood help through humanitarian work and social aid. Who do we help? We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have five or more children and live in terrible poverty. How do we define “terrible poverty”? Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or more basic factors required for living: food, clothes, shoes, and safe space for living. Why do we help? We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By focusing our help on families with many children, we directly affect on their stirring toward becoming independent from social-dependable government programs. Indirectly, we want to affect on birth rate of Serbian people that has been in great decline in last 20 years. What are our long term goals? • family is ready to support itself daily and

manage to pay all required expenses and bills;

• their children are encouraged to continue with school and raising their own family;

• our donors are satisfied with the activities and they are ready to help other families;

• our organization is satisfied with the results; • family is ready in the future to become our

donor and if necessary help other families that are in need of help.

Who do we need in organization? We need members and donors that will secure financial stability through supporting our programs and activities in the future. Donors may join our daily activities within the organization in order to coordinate our work better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several hours per week for actual work within the organization. Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would be determined by the required projects and their personal interest. From that group of volunteers we would look for future leaders of organization.

EMERGENCY SIRENS ANNOUNCE CHRISTMAS!

History repeats itself indeed! The Serbian people in the 21st century are struggling for their existence and survival. Emergency sirens all over Kosovo and Metohija, Serbs being shot and killed, baricades, threats in the Raška area, assimilation and terror in Old Serbia (Macedonia) and Serbian Krajina, montenegrization in Montenegro, everyday pressures in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Repbulic of Srpska... famine, helplessness, white plague and reliance on destiny is a common ground for the Serbian people in the Balkan. And Christmas, one of the greatest christian holidays is ahead of us... In the greatest charity action so far, Emergency Sirens Announce Christmas, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs calls upon all donors, members and friends all over the world to support this action, and to make a humble donation, in order to enable the poor, multi-member Serbian families to celebrate the holiday of the birth of Christ in joy. The Great Christmas action will be conducted throughout the Balkans, in the places where the families need help. We use this opportunity to call upon fraternal charities, social and church organizations to join us, to support us, and to organize amongst themselves and start collecting donations for the forthcoming Christmas action. The action of raising the money, in which our goal is to collect 20,000 EUR, will occur in December 2011 and January 2012. We will use the funds to provide help for a great number of families, and above all, children.

We would also like to call on all of the media, electronic, print, internet, radio and any other media type to broadcast this communication from our organization, and thus enable the broadcasting of our appeal throughout the world as soon as possible. All the plans, actions and financial reports for delivered help will be, as they have been thus far, available on the official website of our organization: www.srbizasrbe.org, and on the website of our branch in USA: www.serbsforserbs.org. HELP IS ARRIVING FOR THE FILIC FAMILY

The Humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs, thanks to donors and people of good will who answered our call for help, have delivered help to the Filic family from Kosovo and Metohija in the value of 250,000 dinars (aprox. $3,300 USD) as part of the existing Christmas charity action. The aid, most of all, was in the form of furniture and appliances for the home to be delivered when the remodeling of the home is complete. The renovation of the home is being financed by the organization Majka Devet Jugovica (Mother of Nine Jugoviches) from Gracanica. Also, our organization was able to order help in the form of medicine and emergency materials for paramedics in Ocojanu near Pec. The complete list of items ordered for this aid effort are listed below. HELP FOR THE FILIC FAMILY: 1. Kitchen elements-appliances 2. Electric Stove 3. Washing machine 4. Sofa set (3 pieces) 5. Three piece dresser 6. Wood burning furnace (2) 7. Dining table (1) and chairs (4) 8. Bed 9. Commode

10. Water heater (boiler) 11. Rug (3) 12. Blanket (3) 13. Wood burning stove 14. Vacuum cleaner 15. Iron All of the materials ordered for help were obtained in Gracanica at the store SI and Kristal, who at this time we would also like to thank. Also, at this time we settled our account balance at these stores from previous charity projects completed in August of this year. …………………………………………………………... MEDICINES FOR THE SERBS IN OSOJANE:

– medicine and ambulatory materials in the value of 104,393 dinars (aprox. $1,400 USD.) The required money for these purchases were collected at the Humanitarian Dinner in Canada, for which we would like to take this opportunity to thank our generous friends in Canada. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs will deliver medicines and the medical supplies to the infirmary in Osojane for the second time in the forthcoming Christmas action. We decided to do that after the request from the local health center and the Serbian people from this village in Metohija. Unfortunately, the Ministry of health of the Republic of Serbia is no longer in position to continue the regular delivery of the necessary medicines to Kosmet, so our organization used most part of the donation of the Serbs from Canada to provide the necessary material. The medicines will be delivered in January. We communicate the thank of the people from Osojane to all the donors worldwide!

SFS IS HELPING FAMILIES FROM BELGRADE

During the previous weekend, a three-member team of SfS from Belgrade visited and helped three families in our capital city. We bought some elementary groceries for the Kostić family with seven children on Bežanija, and we only visited and agreed future help for the families Vranić from Mali Mokri Lug with ten children and family Stamenković from Petlovo brdo with seven children. After attending the holy liturgy in the church of Saint Simeon Mirotočivi on New Belgrade, a three-member team of SfS from Belgrade visited the first family. The Kostić family lives on Bežanija in a rented house. It consists of the unemployed parents Dragan and Milica and children Nemanja (21), Kosta (17), Milana (16), Vuk (11), Vukica (9), Angelina (5) and Vukašin who is eight months old.

The oldest son is a winner of many medals from boxing, and he is also performing for the representation of Serbia. Unfortunately, he is forced to work in a car wash for 500 dinars per day, in order to help his family. We found out that the parents haven't payed the bills for electricity and rental, and they are managing to buy food. The only stabile income is 8,000 dinars of child benefit. Dragan is unemployed for 5 years. He owns a passenger van with 7 seats, and he would be happy to drive the passengers and get the money for his family. We decided to get some elementary groceries for them in the amount of 10,000 dinars, and agree for a future help. Our next stop was Mali Mokri Lug. Family Vranić welcomed us in their home with a family team. The parents Dragoslav and Olga live with the children Sandra (19), Anñela (16), Jelena (14), Radomir (12), Veljko (11), Mihajlo (9), Jovana (6), Teodora (4), Katarina (2) and Filip (1).

Father Dragoslav is working in the public transport as a night driver, and they are also receiving 6,000 dinars of the child benefit. All the children are excellent pupils. We agreed to get them the groceries in the future. After that, we visited a nine-member family Stamenković, who is living in an apartment of 40m2 on Petlovo brdo. The members of the Stamenković family are the unemployed parents Vitomir and Nedeljka, and children Anñela (13), Jovan (12), Marija (10), Dušan (9), twins Zorica and Zoran (6) and Ana (3). They are receiving a child benefit in the amount of 10,000 dinars, and father Vitomir is expecting to get a monthly amount of 13,000 dinars from the National Employment Service, since he lost his job recently. The oldest son Jovan is helping at the altar and choir in the church of Nativity of St. John the Baptist, and every Sunday entire family

goes to the holy liturgy together by bus, and are fasting on a regular basis.

They managed to buy the apartment, but it is in bad condition: the parquet is ruined, the walls are dirty, there are bugs all over the place, the closets are falling apart, the refrigerator is barely working (and the food is spoiling), they don't even have a freezer, TV is not working, they are sleeping in an old bed, old couch and pillows. The bathroom has been equiped by new water heater, washing machine and a sink. They need: a new refrigerator with freezer, elementary groceries, painting of the apartment... We will try to solve their everyday problems. A father and the oldest son thanked us for visiting them.

As they are leaving to the vespers, we go back to our lives and “worries”. We hope that this moving story of the Serbian families will touch the hearts all over the world, and thus we ask you to be more generous during the forthcoming holidays, because your little means so much to them! …………………………………………………………...

SFS HELPED THE STAMENKOVIĆ FAMILY

A three member Serbs for Serbs team from Belgrade visited and helped the Stamenković family from Belgrade, specifically Petlovo Brdo. The help provided was in the form of the purchase of basic necessities for living, groceries, hygiene products and similar in the value of 19,672 dinars (aprox. $260 USD).

Even though that day the traffic was herendous, and a dense fog came in, we still managed to get through to Petlovo Brdo. In front of the building, waiting for us were the father Vitomir, and the oldest son Jovan, so they can help us bring in all of the aid we were delivering that day. As we climber the stairs to the fourth floor, we could see the youngest Stamenković peeking through the door excitedly waiting for us with amazement and a smile.

Along with the groceries and hygiene products, we prepared seven packets filled with sweets for all of the little children. The children, of course, loved the packets the most and started into them immediately with great joy.

The father Vitomir spoke to us about his plan to sell the apartment so that they can purchase a home with a yard in the suburbs. But, unfortunately, because of the current economic conditions, that plan will have to wait for better times. The happy, younger Stamenković shows us his school notebooks we can see that as a good student he is regularly getting A’s and compliments.

While we are playing and taking pictures with the little ones, we made plans to further help the family in the form of a new refrigerator with a freezer, because as they said, that is what they need the most.

Even though we would gladly stay longer to take pictures, talk and laugh with the children, time doesn’t allow us. So, we must part ways with the Stamenković family until our next visit.

With Faith In God! Darko Lojanicic

HELP FOR THE JEŠIĆ FAMILY FROM PRIJEPOLJE

Charity organization Serbs for Serbs helped during the month an eight-member family Ješić from Prijepolje. The help consisted of:

• wooden stove – 21,977.50 dinars • double decker bed (including jogi mattresses) –

32,315.50 dinars • sheet – 8,700 dinars.

We should remeber that the representatives of the organization visited the Ješić family during the action in the Raška area, conducted on 19th and 20th of November. The family consists of the parents Nenad and Danijela and their six children: Milovan (13), Miljan (11), Srñan (7), Aleksandar (4), Danka (2) and Darko (one month old). Unfortunately, this family lost its home twice. In 2006 their house was turned down due to the landslide in Zvjezd, and then they were temporarily accomodated in the youth home of Boško Buha in Jabuka, where the electricity was turned off.

At the beginning of December they were placed in the rented house in Zalug, where they have decent living conditions. The municipal council decided to pay them the rental of the house until July 2012, and the competent authorities will try to build them a house and resolve their residence permanently.

We hope that this story will have a happy end, and that our organization will have the possibility to help this family again to stand on their feet and start living a normal life.

EXTENSION OF THE HOUSE FOR THE ĆETKOVIĆ FAMILY

We are happy to announce that the project of extension of the house for the Ćetković family from the village Peljave, Lopare municipality (Republic of Srpska) is in progress, and that the charity organization Nemanjići-Tićino joined the action by donating 794 CHF. A six-member family Ćetković lives in an unfinished house, in two rooms, which are very cold due to the bad isolation and concrete floor, and they don't even have a bathroom nor the water in the house.

We use this opportunity to call all the people of good will, socially responsible companies, other NGO and institutions to join us in this action, and thus help the humble and hardworking family Ćetković to get its home and the conditions to live with dignity. Report: SFS Republic of Srpska

HELP FOR THE FAMILIES KESAR AND ZDJELAR

On Friday and Saturday, 2nd and 3rd of December 2011, we have visited two families near Prijedor, family Kesar from the Jutrogošte village, whom we have helped twice before, and family Zdjelar from the village Petrovo, in our first visit to them. We visited the Kesar family first. They welcomed us as always. The washing machine we provided in our second donation is working well. We found out that the oldest daughter Dragica was married, and that she went to another village.

Given the fact that it was our third visit to this family, we decided to get them only elementary groceries, to help them get through the winter, and to have less worries during the New Year and Christmas holidays. We spent 199,45 KM in the action. We use this opportunity to thank the brotherhood of the Klisina monastery, who joined the action by donating icons, calendars, and the books of the Orthodox thematic.

The following day we went to the village Petrovo. It is the village where the Marjanović family lives. Although we have visited them frequently, we didn't notice a shed on the meadow. We thought it was a meadow, until our friends told us it was actually the home of the Zdjelar family.

The family consists of the parents Mićo and Milena and five children. Milena has three children from her previous marriage – sons Željko (17), Dragan (9) and a daughter Dragana (5), and she has two more children with Mićo – a daughter Željka (1,5), and a son Miroslav who was born recently.

The only income the family has is from Mićo's wage. He is working in the forest, but it is not a permanent solution. He is not having problems working, but there is not enough jobs. The biggest problem of the family is related to the accommodation, because a seven-member family lives in about 10m2. This is a family in the most difficult condition we visited so far. They sleep in two beds. The house is made of wood, and covered with nylon, which makes an isolation. They have electricity in the house, but they must go to the well to get water. The hygiene of the family is on a low level, which worried us most. We bought great amount of groceries and the hygiene in the amount of 530 KM, and we hope it will be enough for most part of the winter.

Like the previous times, the action was supported by the „Butchery Bojić“ and the store „Tadić“ from Prijedor, who have donated large amount of meat and fruit, and we use this opportunity to thank them again. We must mention that the television team of the Radio Television of Republic of Srpska joined us in the action for the first time. They have recorded the action, and we expect a reportage soon.

TAMBUR PROJECT SUCESSFULY FINISHED

Another year of our work marked the end of another project in the Republic of Srpska thanks to our donors. The family of Vitomir Tambur received the motocultivator with appliances! Unfortunately, since the beginning of our action when we receive the offer, until we raised the money, the price of the products were raised, but it wasn't a problem for Vitomir, who found the best solution to get a motocultivator, and a plow, tiller and a trailer. Vitomir plans to cultivate his land, but also to cultivate the land of his neighbors, and earn enough money for his family.

Vitomir thus became our member, and in the case a family from his municipality needs his services, he will be happy to help.

Branka Zubić, the director of the Center for social work of the municipality Eastern New Sarajevo and the Radio television Eastern Sarajevo. We called the representative of the Assembly of the Eastern Sarajevo, which participated in the action with 1,500 KM, but they didn't manage to come. We thank all the donors and the institutions which helped us in this action. Report: Dobrina Kusmuk, Republic of Srpska

STUDENT ASSOCIATION OF THE FACULTY OF MINING

We are proud to say that we accomplished another cooperation on behalf of our organization. After the student association of the Faculty of Economics from Belgrade, we received support from the Student association of the Faculty of Mining from Prijedor. On the occasion of celebration of the Miners day, we presented the work of our organization. We distributed the promotion material and raised the money donations. We raised a total of 190 KM which is going to be spent in our great Christmas action.

We use the opportunity to thank the students and professors of the Faculty of Mining, who recognized our work. Hopefully this marks the beginning of our successful future cooperation.

We move on! Friends from Prijedor

HELP FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN DONJA TREPCA

The Humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs has helped the library at the elementary school "22 December'' from Donja Trepca with a package of books which included over seventy books intended for grade school children. After receiving a request for help from the school library, with the help of Mr. Baneta and other friends of the organization, in record time we collected 76 books which will certainly enrich the existing library collection for the children of the said school to use.

EVAN SAMSALOVIC'S BIRTHDAY GIFT TO SERBIAN CHILDREN

On Sunday, December 11th, Evan Samsalovic, son of Vojkan and Dasa, celebrated his 2nd birthday with friends and family at the Little Bean Cafe in Chicago. Instead of receiving gifts for his birthday, Evan wished his friends and family to make a donation to Serbs for Serbs to help Serbian children in dire need of help. Evan's guests at his birthday party were able to gather a total of $710 all together. MARIJA TUNIC BIRTHDAY

Small but with Big heart Tunic Mary, lives with her family in Calgary, Canada, she just turned her twelfth birthday. Since her family is part of an organized group of Serbs from Calgary that separates its regular contribution for years to the organization Serbs for Serbs, she decided to make a contribution. How? She decided to give up gifts for her twelfth birthday, and instead of the gifts from her friends she requested money this year, which will be send by her parents to Charity organization Serbs for Serbs. At her Birthday party she managed to raise $270 which was forwarded to the account of SZS. Thus, thanks to small-big Mary Tunic, some good, poor, and many Serbian families in Kosovo, the Serbian Republic or Serbia, will be happy for New Year and Christmas, because their parents will be able to buy food and other necessary things and all this from the voluntary contributions of little Mary and her friends. Mary, thank you from my heart for the good work and know that your example will help other children and adults to realize the joy of giving to those who who are poor. Happy New Year to all of you and MERRY CHRISTMAS! Alen Djelic -Canada 12/17/11 (This is just one part of the letter we received from our friends in Canada)
