Sequence of Operation for the UB Substation
Loss of Utility 1 and 2:
1. PM-1 and PM-2 breaer open respecti!ely
a. "ie breaer P"-1 closes and P"-2 re#ains closed
2. $#er%ency %enerators start &Life Safety' (ithin 1) seconds
a. *enerator breaers and ties close
+. $#er%ency %enerator furnishes po(er to the UB until $quip#ent *enerators
co#e on-line.
,. UB-L closes and UB- opens
. UB tie re#ains closed
/. 0P1 and 0P2 "S controller3s transfers fro# preferred source to e#er%ency
source upon the loss of utility the preferred source &utility or equip#ent
%enerator'.
4. $quip#ent %enerators start &Le%ally Optional' (ithin /) seconds
5. Upon closin% the breaers for the $quip#ent %enerators6 UB- or &0P1 and
0P2' senses preferred po(er has returned6 UB-L opens and UB- closes6 the
0P1 and 0P2 transfer fro# e#er%ency to preferred po(er &utility or
equip#ent %enerator'.
7. $#er%ency %enerators re#ain runnin% until stable po(er is indicated on
PM8S or ti#e delay e9pires and a si%nal is sent for the e#er%ency %enerators
to shut do(n.
1).Upon the return of utility to PS-26 the equip#ent %enerators breaers (ill
open upon the e9piration of the #in ti#e delay stabiliation of the utility.
11.Once the si%nal is recei!ed that utility is stable6 the PS-2 #ain breaer (ill
close and the equip#ent %enerator breaers (ill open.
12."he 0P1 and 0P2 should re#ain on preferred source &equip#ent
%enerators' until utility po(er is stable.

Right now, no, UBS has no way of knowing what is feeding UB-R. It sees voltage, it will start
transition process.
