EXOTICJUTE
Dalsanea was established by Afsana Asif,a talented entrepreneur operating in the Bangladesh fashion market. This 18 years-old unique fashion boutique house is virtually a virtual one as it doesn’t have an outlet. Dalsanea concentrates on high end bridal and party wears.
Very recently Dalsanea entered into Jute Diversified Products with major concentration in Home Textiles and Jute fashion bags. Dalsanea has already started to sell its products in USA, UK and France through Diaspora networks. These product ranges exhibit the ethnic legacy of our country and aim to bring the artistic talents of our underprivileged citizens into the limelight. The new product line highlights the importance of eco-friendly products simultaneously being fashionable and elegant. Dalsanea is socially and environmentally active through making use of naturally resources for its product ranges and giving the underprivileged a chance to express their talents.
JUTEEXOTIQUE

THE RAIN
The monsoon brings the passion of youth and endless beauty to a riverine country like Bangladesh. It inspires dreaming and washes out the dust from nature. It decorates the delighted minds of the farmers as the new bride does for herself. The courtyard becomes filled with golden crops that turn dreams into reality. The beauty and the glamour of the rain fascinate the poet, the literati, the lyricist, the dramatists and the artists and fires the imagination of ordinary people. Artist Alley Khan is no exception to this fascination. Rain profoundly inspires her and helps transform some of her personal emotions into colorful artworks.
PLUIES
Cette exposition est une ode aux pluies de mousson qui régénèrent les paysages du Bangladesh et fascinent les créateurs et les artistes.

RECOLLECTION OFMEMORY
A group of students (1996 Batch) of Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka will be displaying their artworks in a group exhibition titled "Recollection of Memory" inspired by many good memories that they have had during their study in art collage. As time progressed, everybody became busy living out their lives. As a result, they couldn’t meet up that often but kept missing each other. This prompted them to organize a reunion in the form of a group exhibition so that they can recollect their old but precious memories and display their recent art works. They will be displaying their paintings, sculptures and animated films and hope that the audience will enjoy their works. This exhibition is dedicated to their friends Nadia Auzum and Ranvir.

MADAMEBOVARY
On the face of it Flaubert’s Madame Bovary does indeed fit French critic Denis de Rougemont’s contention that 'to judge by literature, adultery would seem to be one of the most remarkable occupations in both Europe and America' (Love in the Western World). No doubt The Reading Circle, Dhaka’s most famed reading group, will broach this theme as well as many others while discussing Flaubert’s classic masterpiece in public.
The discussants will be-Asfa Hussain, Shahruk Rahman, Raana Haider, Jackie Kabir, Shireen Scheik Mainuddin and Professor Maniruzzaman Miah.
Not to be missed! Limited seats. First come, first served basis.
RENCONTRE LITTERAIRE:AUTOUR DE MADAME BOVARY

CONCERT IN MEMORY OFNILOY DAS (SEPTEMBER 30, 1961 – JANUARY 11, 2006)
Niloy Das is, and will forever be the name of a magic in the history of music in Bangladesh. For any guitar enthusiast, ranging from professional talents to guitar naives, this name carries a profound meaning. Niloy was one of the pioneers of modern music in our country, introducing for the first time western musical trends namely classical, neoclassical, blues, metal, jazz, flamenco etc. His talents were not limited in playing guitar; he was an excellent vocalist too. Some of his albums, published during the decades of 80s and early 90s are ‘Koto Je Khujechhi Tomay’, ‘Bibagi Raat’, ‘Stars 1’, ‘Stars 2’, ‘Lashkata Ghor’ etc. ‘Adharey Agontuk’ is his unfinished work. Some of the present era’s most famous guitarists (Komol, Buno, Bappa) were direct students of Niloy Das. This great talent passed away due to cardiac failure on January 11, 2006.
This acoustic concert is to commemorate the 51st birthday of this great musician, which is on September 30. It is designed with his own creations along with his favorite songs, which will be performed by some of his students and admirers.

But over the course of his stay he is made privy to the inner world of the man he must kill – his failing health, his troubled domestic situation and, most importantly, the tyrannical grip that the Czar himself holds over all his ministers, forcing them to obey him or suffer the most deadly

URBAN YOUTH FESTIVALSeptember 27 - 30, 2012 at 9.00pm
They aspire to lead and they are sick of politics, they are on Facebook and they are lonely, they are religious and they do not pray, they take pride in their culture and they listen to Eminem, they break taboos and they establish new norms. They are a majority and they are the future. Young people make up more than half of Bangladesh’s population, but what do they think about the issues that move Bangladesh, how do they feel about their lives, what do they believe, what are their greatest fears, and what do they hope for? Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, along with its partners, dedicates a four-day festival to the youth of Dhaka, their dreams, their values, and their problems.
We invite everybody to join us in this artistic spectacle and celebrate the youth of Bangladesh. The detail of the program can be seen at http://www.goethe.de/dhaka
