News For & From Members Farewell to Our Commander, Jonathan Matlock

It is with sadness and pride in a great job well done that we bid farewell to our Commander, Jonathan Matlock. During his tenure, our Post achieved “All American” status; the first time in the history of our Post. Jonathan worked hard and inspired us to be the best we could be. Reaching “All American” status was

possible through Jonathan’s hard work and leadership. We are all grateful for him putting in the time and energy to help us get this distinction. Jonathan, you will be missed but we also know you need to be with your family. You will always have a home here in our Post so let us know how things are going and we hope to see you back in the area in the future. Godspeed for the future!! Passing of Post Members Bruce Garvin and David Parker and deceased members widow,

Kris Schofield We recently learned that two of our members, Bruce Garvin and David Parker, passed away in the past few months. Also, Kris Schofield passed away on 1 September at the age of 69. She was the widow of deceased charter member Dan Schofield. Our condolences to their families and friends.

event. Through your hard work Operation Care for Troops managed to ship 1002 packages to our deployed men and women of our Armed Services. Operation Care for Troops has shipped a grand total of 109,934 packages! Without the support of local organizations and people such as yourself, Operation Care for Troops could not fulfill its mission of shipping packages to deployed troops. Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our next packing event is our Holiday Stockings scheduled for November 13, 2019 through November 16, 2019

Also, to help raise funds to cover the cost of shipping Operation Care for Troops is collecting used cell phones which are turned into cash! If you or anyone you know has any, we'll be collecting them during these packing so bring them with you!!! And, if you or any of your friends want to sponsor a package please send $20 to: Operation Care for Troops, PO Box 1604, Nashua, NH 03061

On behalf of the Operation Care of Troops Team we are wishing each and every one of you a wonderful New Hampshire Fall Season.

Thanks again and see you November,

Ted

Additionally, Operation Care for Troops is gearing up for our November "Holiday Stockings" Packing Event for deployed military. We expect to ship approximately 1200 to 1500 stockings. As well as support Harbor Homes, Liberty House, and the VASH program. However, our numbers are increasing as we just picked up two new units and expect this to continue with the holiday season coming.

We are in need of funds for shipping the packages. It costs approximately $20 per box to ship. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please let me. Thank you for all you do to support our Veterans.

Regards, Deborah [Deborah A. Luszey, Operation Care for Troops, 603-321-5541]
