Major Highway Construction UpdateWatch out: Orange ahead! When traveling Virginia’s highways, keep an eye out for the color orange. Orange signs, cones and barrels mark highway construction and maintenance work areas. While this highway work might cause you a few inconveniences and even delays at times, it is vital for improving the Commonwealth’s transportation network and helping you get where you need to go.
“Give ’em a Brake!”The Virginia Department of Transportation wants you to know what to expect. These are the locations of some of the larger highway projects now under way on selected major highways in Virginia. This is only a partial list. You might encounter other short-term construction and maintenance projects in your travels, so remain alert. When you approach one of these work areas, be extra cautious and follow the instructions of all warning signs. Keep an eye out for highway workers, and “Give ‘em a Brake!”
