EXALTED RULERS MESSAGE
Fellow Elks: What a summer it has been. The 411 has been busy with some great fundraisers.to take part in at least some of it. The PER's held their annual cash bash to raise money for Christmas Baskets for the needy, a program they have run for many years. We held a Murder Mystery in cooperation with Alzheimer's Research and Making Strides (breast cancer research). For those of you who missed it, let me assure you that you missed a great night!! The cast had a fun-filled time preparing for the play and, I believe, the audience had as much fun watching the cast try to keep it together.each charity. Most recently we had a "Bling Your Bra" evening at the Lodge.that we then wore outside of our clothing all in an effort to heighten the awareness of breast cancer and also raise some money for Making Strides. more as the bras were collected and will be auctioned off at Triple S Harley in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Please watch for details on ways you can bid on these Elks #411 bras!!to work together to earn much needed money for some great causes. Now my own shameless plug!! On October 12 my daughter (and #411 member), Devon Velasquez, will be the opening speaker at the Making Strides Walk/Run held at Ruby McQuain Park.walking in the event to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.walking/running in the event or donating to the cause.this disease. Let's work together to "Close the Loop"!! You will see in this newsletter many opportunities to participate in upcoming Lodge events, including a mini cash bash, a Halloween party to support Alzheimer's Research, an Oktoberfest beer tasting, karaoke, bands and much more. It sure would be great to see a few new faces at some of these events.come up with events that will spark the interest of our membership!!member of the House Committee. We are always here to listen! I do need to take this time to thank so many people for their efforts over the past few months.name each person individually because I know I will forget someone!!see all your efforts and appreciate each of them. Now on to FOOTBALL!! We are again providing parking, shuttle, food and your favorite beverage on WVU home football game day. Please join us for some good times!away games. LET'S GO MOUNTAINEERS!!

When Elks are trick-or-treating during ENF month this October, they will come home with the best treat of all—stronger communities. Throughout October, Lodges celebrate their sweet success in using Elks National Foundation programs to serve others. Here’s a few ways Elks promote ENF programs during ENF month. Lodges hold ENF fundraisers to help meet the GER’s per-member-giving goal to be eligible for a Community Investments Program Gratitude Grant. The month ends with the announcement of Lodges who will serve their communities with 2014 Impact Grants of up to $10,000. Elks engage with ENF scholarship recipients by inviting local Elks scholars to the Lodge to speak and connect with members. Local Hoop Shoot competitions continue, encouraging youth to be active and get involved in their communities. As a part of the Drug Awareness Program, Lodges observe Red Ribbon Week by encouraging a drug-free lifestyle. Elks gear up to celebrate our nation’s heroes during Veterans’ month this November. No tricks here! Visit www.elks.org/enf to learn more about the ENF and how it helps Elks build stronger communities this month and throughout the year. The Elks National Foundation helps Elks build stronger communities through programs that support youth, serve veterans, and meet needs in areas where Elks live and work. For more information on the ENF, visit www.elks.org/enf.

It is always one of my saddest duties to publish the names of delinquent members. Let me assure everyone that every person
listed here has already received a dues invoice last February and two separate notices by postcard. If a member remains delinquent,
they will be dropped from the membership rolls in late March. Being delinquent also means that one is not able to attend Lodge
meetings, to vote on Lodge business, or to participate in other activities of the Lodge. All members that are delinquent at this time
are regular members. Please make your payment of $66.50 in a check, made payable to “Elks 411” and send it to me at 1532 Point
Of course, there is always the possibility a mistake was made. If you believe that you have already paid, please call us at

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater was a Big HIT!FROM THE NEWSLETTER EDITOR
Steven Grugin
(Director Of Murder Mystery and
Elks 411 House Committee Member)
The Murder Mystery Dinner Theater
we had for the Elks Lodge 411 was a
huge success! Many of our cast
members worked very hard starting
in June with rehearsals and ticket
sales. We had close to 150 people
attend our show. The cast Consisted
of some of our members including:
John Penn, Gloria Gozdzick, Steven
Grugin, TJ Eddy, Jay Keener, Dawn
Tatar, Melisa and Rusty Angel, and
Gary Bechdolt. Other Community
players were Michelle Rehburg,
Rachel Jones, Dean Cole, and
Andrew Danko!
The Night started out with an
incredible theatrical production
filled with music and dancing
surrounded by an incredible set of
props and lighting, effects , sound
and music.
Through the night, many clues were
given to find the murderer and it
turned out the Professor did it! We
had three gift baskets which you had
the choice of buying a ticket for a
chance to win! Then whoever had
guessed the murder was put into a
drawing and a winner was drawn to
win the murder mystery gift basket!
This was one for the history books,
and if you missed the show, another
show will hopefully be planned for
next year!
This show was geared toward raising
money for Elks 411, American
Cancer Society, and Alzheimer’s
research!
We hope to see another night like
this in the upcoming future!
