MMS Update

• MMS Processes & Procedures (DAM, RUC, Adjustment Period and Real-time)– MMS and MOS team members are leading the development of these documents – Process reviews with the for DAM & RUC are complete– Process reviews for adjustment period and real-time will be presented during

September and October TPTF meetings

• Software Releases– MMS 4

• Complete patch 2 FAT testing on Aug. 26• Started patch 3 FAT testing on Aug. 26• Patch 4 delivered to ERCOT on Aug. 27 (originally targeted for Aug. 31)

– Will use same CIM XML test data set as patch 2 and 3– Focused mainly on outstanding defects; smoke testing in progress; will be moved to MMS FAT

after the completion of MMS3 patch 3 FAT • MMS4 patch 5 is targeted for delivery on Sept. 30

– Targeted to include Settlements and Billing defects, interface updates, and additional work-flow development and testing with the most recent CIM schema and CIM XML test data set

– Will use v1.20 of the CIM schema and a corresponding CIM XML test data set

MMS Update – 2

• Software Releases (continued)– MMS 5

• No change to previous MMS5 update; remains the last scheduled MMS software release

• This release will be comprised of the following:– CIM XML import processing and testing end-to-end (defined in last

bullet in this section)– Bug fixes identified to ABB during testing– Remaining work on NPRRs (e.g., NPRR113)– Remaining SIG paper work (e.g., rounding)– Remaining software implementation changes based on testing (e.g.,

performance improvements, startup cost eligibility, SASM constraint modeling)

• Trigger start for MMS5 is a CIM schema and CIM XML data file validated and synchronized for consumption by downstream systems (e.g., EMS, MMS)

COMS Update

• Settlements/Data Agg/CSI – Product Testing at ERCOT – Development

• Settlements and Billing/Data Agg: Completed over 97% of nodal coding and functionally verified. Outstanding code (to date):

– Data Agg: Reworking recent memory footprint release from Oracle into core code and regression testing

– Internal/External Source Reports for Data Agg, Settlements, and CODIA• CSI: Completed over 94% of Lodestar Bill Determinants and verified

– Testing• Continue to test core system with upstream system changes • Continue to optimize batch cycles

– Major issues• Currently reworking the memory footprint functions into base code (added a

final regression to schedule) • Need synchronous dataset from market systems (NMMS/EMS/MMS/CRR)

running in an integrated environment before market level validation can begin (required for post Shadow Settlement Extracts)

EIP Update – 2

• ERCOT is merging the Application Program Interface (API) Subgroup meetings into the Friday morning EDS 3 Market Call meetings– The last API Subgroup meeting will be held on Sept. 23; thereafter, the

topic will be covered on the EDS call– All questions or feedback to ERCOT regarding documentation should be

sent to the EDS 3 email at [email protected] – Google Group that facilitates API forum will continue as a peer-to-peer

forum for Market Participants to collaboratively share and obtain information; however ERCOT will now only use EDS activities and the Readiness Center for all communications and postings

– ERCOT is seeking a Market Participant volunteer to assume moderation of the Google Group

INT Update

• Major milestones achieved in the past 2 weeks:– Established a process that works:

• Developed business-centric integration objectives for each release, including the accomplishment of end-to-end integrated business processes

• Prioritized all Nodal interfaces in each release, based on objectives above• Directed EIP and core project teams based on interface priorities• Deployed complete interface components (source, sink, adaptor) for integration testing

– To date:• INT leads assigned to five Priority 1 interfaces• All five Priority 1 interfaces deployed for Integration Testing (EWS-MMS, Platts-MMS, Reg-

MMS, CRR-MMS, CMM-MMS)• 1 passed smoke test; rest under-going smoke• MMS is running daily with stubbed data (FAT dataset)

– Target at the end of release 2 (Oct. 10)• All Priority 1 interfaces deployed and passed smoke test (base-lined and under-going

connectivity testing)• MMS running daily with data inputs through Integration layer for EWS, Platts, CRR, and

CMM
