ASHTON MEADOWS USB KEYS Please help support your child’s school! We will be selling Ashton Meadows USB keys (8 GB) for $5.00/each. There are 2 different styles, a purple lanyard and a white wristband. Students can purchase a USB key by bringing in their money to the Office. The money collected will go back to the school and for our students! So Don’t Miss Out!!

Dear Ashton Families,
This year for Curriculum Night you will not only have an opportunity to meet
your child’s teacher, but also the chance to mix and mingle with staff and other
parents while enjoying dinner with your family.
Information regarding dinner:
M&M Meats will be providing dinner packages available for purchase. Payment and ordering may be
done through School Cash on‐line, please refer to the instructions attached. Parents if you haven’t
signed up for School Cash on‐line, we will be able to assist you during Curriculum night. Computers will
be set up in the library. If paying by cash, please return the bottom portion of this form to your child’s
teacher NO LATER THAN MONDAY OCTOBER 3, 2016.

What is West Nile virus?West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne virus that can be passed to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito.
What are the symptoms of West Nile virus?Most people infected with West Nile virus have no symptoms or have flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache, body aches and fatigue. Sometimes West Nile virus can cause severe illness including meningitis and encephalitis (inflammation of the brain).
Symptoms usually develop between two and 15 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito.

What you can do…Clean upThe best way to keep mosquitoes away is to clean up areas of standing water where mosquitoes like to breed. Here are some tips:• Clean up and empty containers where water
collects (old tires, tin cans, flower pots, etc.)• Change water in bird baths weekly• Remove water that collects on pool covers• Turn over items such as wading pools,
wheelbarrows and small boats• Clear eavestroughs and roof gutters• Unclog drainage ditches• Drill holes in the bottoms of containers so
water can’t collect• Check that door and window screens are
tight-fitting and in good repair
Cover upProtect yourself and your family from
mosquito bites.• Wear light-coloured, long- sleeved shirts
and pants • Use insect repellent containing DEET
when outdoors; apply according to manufacturer’s instructions
