every other month but we need someone to volunteer to do hospitality on the off months.

Field Trips: We need a volunteer to lead Red Top, contact Mike Shaw. The last trip of the year is

listed at the end of the newsletter and is at Little Naches, where we’ll get Rhyolite (pretty stuff) and

Thundereggs. The group campground has been reserved.

via Good Samaritan in Spokane Valley.

3. Spokane Valley NW Library has asked our club to put out a display case for the month of October.

Stefany Shaw volunteered to head up the project and will need donations.

NW Federation: Jim B. talked about the endowment fund. Delegates are to spend 4% per year and has to benefit the Federation or members of the Federation in some way. Ideas for donation are needed. See NW Federation newsletter for more information. Rock Show 2019: There are tons of grab bags cut out, just need volunteers to sew them up, see Cheryl Ellicott-Jones. We still need rock tumbled for the grab bags. Scholarship Fund: The scholarship fund drawing was held. Congrats to all the winners!! Purchases:

1. An expensive wheel was badly damaged. We need to hire someone to install our cameras. A

motion was made, seconded, and all were in favor.

2. Hole Drilling machine – faster and less tendency to blow out the back of the cabs. It is grit fed, the

bits are super cheap to replace. There was some discussion on the need to have only certified

members do the hole drilling to protect the machine from damaged. A motion was made,

seconded, and all were in favor.

3. Bonnie Agee will be selling Leon’s equipment for $3165 for all, original price is $5830. The

equipment if purchased will go in the faceting room and be in a separate locked cabinet, where

certified members can use the equipment to prevent damage. A motion was made, seconded, most

were in favor with 1 opposing vote.

4. The treasurer is requesting a laptop to do club work on; cost up to $750. A motion was made,

seconded, and all were in favor.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.

***Next General Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 25th @ 5:30PM***
