1. Determine your goal
Are you selling products, creating an event, or focused on getting more likes? You must have a goal before moving forward. Otherwise, you’re wasting your time.
With all of this talk about Facebook, I figured my next write up should be about best practices.
5. 3’s a charm
Show 3 images if you can. Multiple angles, mood shots, etc will tell the visual story of the products. Videos are excellent too.
2. Focus on the proper demographic
This will maximize your budget by pushing your ads to the best possible leads. If the demo doesn’t match your intended direction, you’re not maximizing your budget.
acebook 6. Hyperlink your messages
Direct the shoppers to your website top learn more.
4. Keep your messages short & sweet
I like to focus on no more than 4 sentences. If you need more detail, include a link which directs the customers to a place to gather more information.
8. ABA. Always Be Aspiring
Pending your brand, change up your posts so you’re not always pushing furniture in consumers’ faces. Be aspiring and focus on impacting the customer through a variety of posts.
9. Learn as you go
In my opinion, how many people view the posts doesn’t mean much. I’m focused on the engagement level and clicks. The higher the engagement level, the better your post and opportunity to selling furniture. If the engagement level is weak, change up your demographic. Learn from your posts and improve.
3. Text free images
Have your images be as clear from copy as possible. Your message should be in the body of the post.
7. Call to Action
-- Must have a call to action. Are you selling online? Great -- send them to your site. Trying to boost likes? Awesome -- post something interesting and fun.Want to generate foot traffic in the store? Fabulous -- inform the customer in your message. Example: “Only 3 left @ $297. Available in store only.”-- You must have a call to action.
One last thing: People don’t go on Facebook to buy. They go on Face-book to learn. You’re targeting a customer in the middle of their gossip scroll... How likely are they to stop and buy a $499 sofa? Think about what you’re posting and ask yourself “Would I stop to buy/click/learn/engage with this post?”

MONTERREY, Mexico — Grupo Famsa, a Mexican retailer of furniture, appli-ances and electronics, an-nounced it will close nearly half of its U.S. stores due to deteriorating sales and in-creased operating losses in
the U.S. market.The Top 100 retailer said
it will shut down all 24 of its stores in California, Ne-vada and Arizona later this year. That will leave Famsa with 22 U.S. stores in Texas and three in Illinois.
No timetable for the closings was announced,
but the publicly traded company listed its westernU.S. stores as discontinued operations on its financial report for the quarter ended March 31.

ECRU, Miss. — Promotional upholstery source American Furni-ture’s sales declined 15.7% in the first quarter to $30.3 million, par-ent company Compass Diversified Holdings reported in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
American posted an operating profit of $289,000 for the quar-ter, a turnaround from the first quarter of 2011, when it had a loss of $8 million due mainly to a $7.7 million non-cash impairment charge to goodwill and its trade name.
Stationary upholstery sales were down about $6.3 million from a year ago and motion product sales fell about $500,000, the com-pany reported. But recliner sales were up $1.2 million as American

HIGH POINT — Ashley remains the leader on Furniture/Today’s annual Top Sources for the U.S. Furniture Market report, with the $3.3 billion giant adding more to its top line last year than the rest of the companies on the list combined.
