We hope that you and your families had a wonderful summer break.
The PTO was busy during the summer months planning some great activities for the
2014-2015 school year. We have added some new programs like Bingo Night and
International Night. We will also continue to host many of our popular events. A full
calendar of events can be found on the PTO website at

Please take a look at the sidebar list of Important Dates for the upcoming PTO
activities.
We very much enjoyed hosting the new family breakfast this year and had a great
turnout. Welcome to all of our new families!
Important things to know….
• Mark your calendars to attend Sheridan Hill’s Annual Fall Fest on September 19th!
We have a fun filled night planed with pony rides, a petting zoo and don’t forget
the pie eating contest. We will have complimentary donuts and cider, and there
will be pizza and hot dogs available for sale.
• Say CHEESE! Mark your calendars for school pictures on September 17th. Watch
for more information to come home in the backpacks.
• The Annual Night Out Auction will be held on March 20th, 2015. The auction is our
most important fund raising opportunity of the year. Look for more information
to come.
A special thank you goes out to Kate Buchbinder for organizing the School Supply Kits
again this year. It makes getting those school supplies so much easier.
Please join us at the first PTO meeting of the year on September 9th at 7 pm in the
library.

Dear Parents,
Each year the Sheridan Hill PTO publishes a School Directory that contains class lists, names, addresses, phone numbers and
emails of each family and other pertinent school information. Every family will receive one copy of the directory. In order for
your child(ren) to be included in the directory, you must complete and sign this form. Please return this form even if you
choose not to have your family listed in the directory by Monday, September 22nd. If you receive several forms, please include
the name(s)of all your children on one form only.
Please provide your email address. ALL correspondence will be via email. Even if you do NOT want your child(ren) to be listed
in the directory, please provide your email address for the delivery of the Newsletter and other information. Please note emails
sent to the entire list of SH families will be Blind Carbon Copied (BCC). Thus, email addresses shared without publication in the
directory will remain private. If you do not have email, paper copies of the Newsletter will be available in the school foyer, outside
the Main Office.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A ROOM PARENT COORDINATOR?
Room parent volunteers are critical to the success of our school year.
Check your child’s backpack the first day of school for the Room Parent Coordinator form.
Please note the following important information and guidelines:
Names will be selected by lottery system.
The deadline for applying will be strictly enforced: Wednesday, September 10th.
You may apply for any and all positions in each classroom in which you have a child. If you
select all options, we will assume that you are available to fill any role and in no particular order
of preference.
Submit the form in an envelope marked “PTO Room Parent Volunteer” on or before
Wednesday, September 10th.
You will be notified by Monday, September 15th if you have been selected as Room Parent
Coordinator.
If you have been selected, you will be required to attend a mandatory meeting to discuss position
responsibilities at 2:40 p.m. on September 17th in the cafeteria.
ENJOY THE CITY BOOK SALE
The “Enjoy The City” coupon book fundraiser will be back again next month!
Look for a book to come home with your child in October. Orders for these fabulous coupon books
will be taken from October 6th to the 24th. Books are $20 each…when you purchase five books you get
the sixth for free!
These books make great gifts and will be in just in time for the holidays!

FALL FLOWER SALE
Fall Mums and Pumpkins will be available for pre-order September 5th - September 12th. Please
submit the order form, along with a check, to the Sheridan Hill PTO by Friday, September 12. Orders
can be picked up at Week's Nursery, located at 5955 Shimerville Road, prior to October 1st. There will
be a limited number of Mums and Pumpkins available for sale at Fall Fest on Friday, September 19th.

UB Football Sheridan Hill Spirit Day
We are excited to announce that we will again be offering Sheridan
Hill students the opportunity to attend a football game at UB! Sheridan
Hill Spirit Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th where your
UB Bulls will take on Miami University (Ohio). Sheridan Hill students will receive a complimentary
ticket and families can purchase tickets for $10! This is a great fundraiser for Sheridan Hill as UB has
offered to split the profit from the tickets sale with our school! Please join us for a fun day of family
friendly tailgating, a great pre-game concert (Three Dog Night), and an exciting football game! Get
there early to be included in a special on-field pre-game ceremony! All ticket orders must be received
by September 19th.

SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS
Welcome back to school! Thank you to all the parents who purchased school supply kits this year,
we sold 188 kits this year. As you go through your kit, please notify me of any broken or missing
supplies. Thank you to Kelly Raymond and Jennifer Kankolenski for all their help on pick up day.
