The Baptism Class

Anyone wishing to schedule a baptism is

asked to attend a class prior to the date

of the baptism. Expectant parents, as

well as those who already are parents,

may attend the class. Scheduling of

baptisms will take place at the class.

Fall New Member Orientation

The next New Member Orientation will be held after supper on Wednesday, October 2. This orientation to membership provides an introduction to Zion ministries and staff, an opportunity to meet others at Zion, and a little about what it means to be Lutheran. Those that decide to become members will be formally received into our congregation on Sunday, October 13.

The orientation will include:

Supper for you and your family (serving begins at 5pm; you are encouraged to come around 5:45 to eat with the Outreach Committee).

Meeting begins at 6:30 and will end around 7:45pm.

Child care and activities for children will be available after the meal if requested in advance.

Plenty of informal conversation with staff, existing members, and other prospective new members, an overview of a wide variety of Zion programs and ministries, and pastors briefly introduce what it means to be Lutheran.

Your photo will be taken for the reception on October 14 (or you may email your own photo to [email protected] before the class), and information for church records will be verified.

Sunday Welcome Crews

How can you help make Zion a welcoming and friendly place on Sunday mornings? Join a Sunday Welcome Crew!

Sunday Welcome Crews are currently being constructed, one for each Sunday of the month. Each Welcome Crew will be lead by two Zion households, include 10-12 more households, and be on duty one Sunday a month to assure that Zion is a welcoming place. When each crew is fully staffed, we’ll start constructing a new way to welcome people to Zion on Sunday mornings.

Love Beyond Belief

I am really looking forward to the end of summer!

It’s not that I want summer to end (I am writing this on August 13). I enjoy summer fun as much as you do. Family reunions, hobbies, travel, kids home from school, boating, days at the cabin; like you I try to squeeze as much fun as possible into the three or four months of warmth. But…

It’s just that I am looking forward to the fall and all the activity at Zion. I love it when everyone comes back to church at the end of summer. I have not seen some of you since last May, or even longer. I know that I have missed everyone when the church is full again. The halls have activity. Sunday school rooms are being used on Sundays and week nights. Wednesday evenings are bustling with youth and children and adults. It is the same old church building (yes, the ‘new’ church is almost 25 years old) but, it is kind of new too.

And that is how God’s love is – the same but kind of new too. Constant, faithful, never-ending, and yet brand new for the new contexts of our lives. This fall, Pastor Luke and I will be talking about that kind of love. The kind of love that many of us have known our whole life but yet seems brand new when we need it today. Love that Christians have relied on for years but which comes to us fresh and new for what we are facing now. Sometimes God’s love seems too good to be true; sometimes it seems that love like God’s simply cannot be. Join us beginning Sunday, September 8th for this series of messages:

We’ll be filling one spot per day in the

Meals on Wheels schedule for the month.

Buffalo Presbyterian Church will be

covering the other two routes each day.

Duluth Mission Trip

Duluth in July is really quite beautiful. Lake breezes keep the weather cool and beautiful, the rich history of the city begs to be explored, and the Tall Ships come sailing into town. Something else came rolling into town that last weekend of July as well. Thirty-eight men, women, and children came caravanning from Zion with hearts ready to serve and embrace those in need in the community. We had grandparents with grandkids, dads and daughters, moms and sons, and whole families come to serve.

The service projects were incredibly well organized. We really had something for everyone. We painted a house, helped clean and repair at the accordion museum, pulled buckthorn in the middle of a cathedral of towering pines (pictured on the front cover), cleaned up city parks, sang at nursing homes, built furniture and organized items at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and so much more.

Just as important as serving was the sharing of time and experiences with the 38 people from Zion who were there together. I know that great relationships were formed, kids bonded and played together, and parents and adults had a great chance to get to know each other better and create new friendships and connections with people from church.

The word is out, the All Ages trip to Duluth in 2013 was a roaring success. Every person I’ve seen since has said what an amazing experience it was and they are already asking about dates for next year. Our plan for next year is going back to Duluth and filling all 50 spots. I’m already getting excited about who God will send along next time! It might just be you…

Community Meals

Back in 2010, Zion sponsored and served the first free community breakfast at the Buffalo Community Center to help stamp out hunger in the community!

The Director of the Buffalo Community Center recognized that needs at the Buffalo Food Shelf were increasing, and many individuals and families had little or no disposable income. Collectively, the idea of free meals was developed by Love INC-Big Woods and the Buffalo Food Shelf to involve local churches and civic groups to provide a free breakfast each month to people in need in our local area and reduce local hunger.

Under the leadership of Roger and Sandy Brenny and the Social Ministry Committee, Zion agreed to host the first free meal.

Looking back on it, we still laugh about how we had more volunteers serving the breakfast than the people who came to eat!

Christianity and the Bible II

Part 2 of “Christianity and the Bible”

will be offered this fall beginning on

September 5.

Rick Johnson will lead this Bible Study

which looks at how the Bible came into

being, from the creation of the Hebrew

Bible to the King James version. The

curriculum includes videos on the history

of Christianity and Martin Luther.

The first part of the study, covering

Christian history and Bible development

up to 400 AD, was presented last spring.

It is not necessary to have attended part 1

before attending part 2, as week 1 will be

a review of the spring class. The fall class

will cover from 400 AD to the writing of

the King James version.

The fall class includes the life and works

of Martin Luther, the Protestant

Reformation, the history of the English

Bible, and more. The full outline is

available online.

Class will be held on Thursday nights

from 6:30-8pm for seven weeks. Sign up

September 15 Discussion

At the December 2, 2012, annual meeting

the Congregation approved a motion to

discuss and pray for God’s guidance

concerning the practice of filling

leadership positions in the church.

An open forum to discuss and seek God’s

guidance concerning changing the method

of filling vacant positions from an open

election process to a ballot with only one

name per elected position will be held in

the library at 9:30 am on Sunday,

September 15. A final forum will be held

in October.

New Testament Study

10-Week Fall Adult Bible Study

Pastor Bob Mortvedt is back from his most recent interim in Nebraska, and will be leading a ten-week Bible study on Philippians, Colossians, and Ephesians on Monday nights, September 16-November 18, from 7-8:30pm.

All are welcome.

All you’ll need is your Bible and a notebook.

These three books, known as the “prison” letters, come from late in St Paul’s ministry. They are a part of our 3-year Sunday lectionary about 25 times, and contain many beloved passages. This study will look at the setting and themes of each letter.

Musicians Potluck

Senior High and Adults, if you’ve thought about using your musical talents in one of Zion’s music groups here’s your chance. Come for a potluck picnic in the Zion Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, September 4, and stay for a rehearsal.

Mission Jamaica Information Meeting

The 2014 Mission Jamaica “Vacation with a Purpose” trip will be February 22 – March 1. All are invited to an informational meeting to be held after each service on Sunday, September 15, in the choir room.

The total cost of this trip will be $2115 per person based on double occupancy.

New Bishop Elected

The Rev. Elizabeth A. Eaton, bishop of

the ELCA Northeastern Ohio Synod,

was elected presiding bishop of the

ELCA at the 2013 ELCA Churchwide

Assembly on August 14. Eaton received

600 votes on the fifth ballot, and the

Rev. Mark S. Hanson, ELCA presiding

bishop, received 287. Eaton is the

ELCA's first woman presiding bishop-

elect.

Prior to becoming synod bishop, Eaton

served as pastor for ELCA

congregations in Ohio. She earned a

Master’s of divinity degree from

Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge,

Mass., and a Bachelor’s degree in

music education from the College of

Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.

Social Suppers

Social suppers are an opportunity to get to know some new folks at Zion in a one-time small-group setting. Participants will be randomly placed in groups of 8-10 adults to get together in homes for a potluck supper. This round of social suppers will have both ‘Adults Only’ and ‘Kid friendly’ groups, and options to host or be a guest in someone else’s home.

Please sign up online or at the information desk by Sunday, September 22.

Each participant will receive a letter with group and host assignments the week of September 30.

Each host plans their main dish and contacts the guests to finalize details, give directions, and suggest what the others should bring to complete the meal.

Groups will meet on Saturday, October 12, at 7pm.

In a church as large as Zion, this is a good way to get to know a handful of people a little better. If you have any questions, please contact Angela in the church office.

Block Family Serves Tacos Together

Jodi Clifton-Block and her husband Doug Block both grew up in Buffalo. They’ve been married for almost 22 years and have two boys, Danny (15) and Jack (12)

Jodi has worked at Aimia (formerly Carlson Marketing) for 23 years, and Doug works at Commercial Door Systems in Corcoran.

They love the outdoors, and enjoy swimming, boating, biking and gardening in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.

Jodi and her family have been attending Zion for about 5 years and became members earlier this year. They chose Zion for their church home because of all the wonderful opportunities Zion had for their children.

For most of that time they have served with a Wednesday Supper Team.

We had a couple of reasons to get involved. First we wanted to work with others in the church and when a request was made to help on one of the teams, it sounded like fun so we joined the taco team. Secondly, serving also gives the boys an opportunity to earn church service hours for confirmation.

Wednesday Suppers Return

Zion suppers return for the year on September 11, and meals will be served each week until the end of the school year excluding school breaks.

Did you know…

5000+ meals were served between September 2012-May 2013 on Wednesdays at Zion.

More than 65 people volunteer their time to make the suppers happen.

You Can Help!

As a new school year begins, consider joining one of the supper teams. Each team serves their signature meal once approximately every two months, which means serving only 4-5 suppers during the entire year. It’s a great way to get to know other Zion friends. Each team cooks foods that are already semi-prepared, then serves and cleans up after the meal. Work is often divided into shifts to make schedules more flexible for all on the team.

Parents of Confirmation students, this is a great way to volunteer with your Confirmation youth to record a few church service hours for the year. A few hours, a small commitment, a great reward for many people!

Cindy Bonde, Wednesday Night Supper coordinator, gives great support to each team by ordering foods and doing the “behind the scenes” planning to make the supper teams successful each week. If you would like to try serving on a supper team, please contact Cindy at [email protected].

A Celebration Gathering for Women of Faith

The 2013 Women’s Gathering of the Minneapolis Area Synod will be held on September 20-21 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bloomington, MN. Zion Women’s Ministry will be coordinating carpools for both Friday and Saturday. The event is open to women of all ages.

Vast Eternity

What's the biggest thing you've built? For me it's the shed in the backyard. I've helped with some homes, that's bigger. Some guys work on the skyscrapers in Minneapolis, then there's the shipbuilders and huge dam projects.

God made the earth. Yet that's just a small part of what he's made. Think about the Earth compared to the size of the Sun.

But our sun is puny compared to many of the other stars.

God collected 100 billion stars into our Milky Way galaxy.

Now check out this photo from the Hubble telescope (or in color online at ZionBuffalo.org/vast-eternity).

The HUDF (Hubble Ultra-Deep Field) image was taken in a section of the sky with a low density of bright stars in the near-field, allowing much better viewing of dimmer, more distant objects. The image contains an estimated 10,000 galaxies. Each of these galaxies with 10-100 billion stars. The area of the sky that this represents is smaller than a 1 mm by 1 mm square of paper held at 1 meter away, and equal to roughly one thirteen-millionth of the total area of the sky. It’s really hard to imagine the size of all of it. It makes my head hurt just thinking of the size of what God has created.

Think of all that when you think of God and you’ll realize he can do anything.

In Genesis, God gave Adam and Eve dominion over all the things of the Earth. We’ve inherited that responsibility over the Earth from them and we’ll pass that responsibility on to our children and grandchildren.

The shed I built will eventually fall apart or be removed. The ships will be scrapped and the skyscrapers will be replaced. But scientists estimate that the Earth will be intact for another 4 billion years. Our life is short like the blades of grass, (Luke 12:28) but our eternity will be as vast as the universe. Store up your treasures in heaven (Luke 12:33).

Meet the Council

Alisa Ireland has been a member of Zion

her whole life. She was baptized,

confirmed and married at Zion. Her

parents (Lori and the late Harold Tenney)

have been members since 1974 and

before that her grandparents (the late

Merle and Verna Walters) also attended

Zion for many years.

She has been married to John for 12

years. They have a ten-year-old son Jack,

who is going to be in fourth grade at

Parkside Elementary this fall. As a

family they enjoy living on a small lake,

water sports, coaching and attending

Jack’s sports and school activities. In

early August, Alisa and Jack participated

in the Green Lake Triathlon at Spicer,

MN together.

Alisa is beginning her thirteenth year of

teaching 7th grade English at Buffalo

Community Middle School. She enjoys

working with middle school students “who

have great personalities and a fun sense of

humor.”

Alisa has taught Sunday School at Zion

and has been involved in family ministries

like Truckload for Life. This summer her

family participated in the All Ages

Mission Trip, and found it to be an

incredible experience.

Alisa also serves on the Church Council,

Outreach & Evangelism Committee, and

the Fellowship Committee. She is pleased

to be more involved in church and able to

see all that is going on. Alisa has found

serving on church council to be a

rewarding experience.

Confirmation Class Schedule

Students registered to attend Confirmation classes this fall, please make sure these dates are on your calendars:

September 4: Guide Meeting at 6pm for all current and new confirmation guides for the 2013-14 school year.

September 4: Parent Meeting at 7pm in Sanctuary for all 7th & 8th Grade parents and students to discuss requirements, expectations and to let you know what is new in the Confirmation program for 2013-14.

September 11: First night of confirmation class at 6pm.

September 18: Confirmation class at 6pm, and small groups begin.

Senior High Mission Trip 2014

Will you be a 9th-12th grader this fall? Are you looking for an adventure that will draw you closer to God and leave you with great memories? Do you feel the need to make a difference in your world?

Bring a parent plus a friend to the mission trip meeting on Wednesday, October 2, at 7:30pm in the Youth Room, and find out where Zion is off to next summer. This will be the only meeting of its kind, so be there!

Friday Breakfast Crew

Are you a 9th-12th grader and want a great way to start your Friday right? Come to Perkins for breakfast on the first Friday of each month. This is a great time to check in with your friends and have some great food.

This month’s Friday Breakfast Crew will meet Friday, September 6, at 6am. If you need a ride to school, contact Myron. Make sure to bring money for food and a tip for our great servers!

Rite of Confirmation

The Rite of Confirmation Service for 9th grade students who have completed all of their requirements for both years of confirmation will be on Saturday, September 21 at 1pm.

On Saturday, September 14 from 9am-11am, there is a confirmation retreat for those students who will be getting confirmed and guides. There will be a final lesson, stole making, and more.

At 11am, parents are expected to attend the Rite of Confirmation service walkthrough with the students in the Sanctuary. This is when the students will find out what is expected of them at the service, picture info will be handed out and other questions can be answered at this time.

On Saturday, September 21, pictures will be taken at 10:30am.

Youth & Children’s Ministry

After School Activities & Music Groups

Now is the time to sign up for one or more of the great programs offered to students on Wednesday afternoons. A wide range of music groups and Kids’ Place will be offered on Wednesday after school during the school year. There’s a choir for you!

Kids’ Place (childcare) will be offered again this year for children in grades K-6 from 3:45 until 5:30pm before or after choirs.

SONshine Choir (K-2): directed by Carol Moore

Bus transportation is offered from Parkside, Discovery, Tatanka, Northwinds, and St. Francis schools. Check page 12 for information about choir and handbell options for middle school and high school students.

Remember that Wednesday night suppers are available weekly for all families (see page 7). A freewill donation is encouraged to cover meal costs. Kids’ Place childcare ends at 5:30 pm, and at that time all children should be with their parent or other adult (not wandering the building). Evening childcare for parents taking part in evening activities begins at 6pm.

Building a Foundation

Sarah Samuelson is a lifelong member of Zion. Her parents, Dan & Linda Opsal, are also members.

She has been married to Wayne for almost 11 years, and their children are Olivia (7) and Luke (4). She is in her fifteenth year at Discovery Elementary School, where she currently teaches a grade 1-2 class. In her free time, Sarah enjoys walking and reading.

My family loves to be out and about in our community! Buffalo is a great place to live and raise children! We enjoy many of the fun activities Buffalo has to offer. For fun, our family likes to play outside, spend time with our pets, and visit area parks.

At Zion, Sarah has helped make pillow cases for baptism bundles, and Wayne & Sarah have helped serve communion.

We have enjoyed many of the opportunities available for families to fellowship together. I feel very blessed to be a

Family Ministries. Karen and Marsha

will work part-time with Kirsten while a

special team explores the needs of the

open position and next steps for best

Karen has been a behind-the-scenes

volunteer in Children’s Ministry at Zion

for many years. She has been a member

of the congregation since she moved to

the area 23 years ago. Her husband,

Mark, has been a member most of his life,

and they have three children.

Marsha is retired from teaching

elementary school. She and her husband,

Mike, have been members of Zion for over

30 years.

Sunday School Volunteers

for adults and teens to get involved and

part of the Zion church family and am excited for my children to experience all the amazing opportunities Zion has to offer!

Sarah first taught Sunday school as a high school student, and then volunteered as a confirmation guide for several years. She returned to Sunday school when she had her own children.

Sunday school gives the children an important foundation for learning about God’s love, our relationship with Him and how we should treat each other and share God’s love with others. The students are so excited to learn and have such giving hearts.

When Olivia first began Sunday School she was a little shy and she could be seen clinging to my leg. I decided to teach Sunday School because it was important for Olivia to learn about Jesus’ love and she was willing to go if I was there. I volunteered in her classroom and have enjoyed getting to know many of the students in her grade level. I have enjoyed being a part of Olivia’s experiences at church and working with such amazing staff and volunteers.

This will be Sarah’s fifth year of teaching Sunday school as an adult leader, teaching first grade last year, and second grade this year. She hopes to volunteer in Luke’s class in the future, and looks forward to being a confirmation guide when her children are older.

I was blessed to work with amazing shepherds. At Zion it is a team effort to make each Sunday a fun and meaningful experience for the children. The students walk in with a bright smile and love to have fun and learn about Jesus! They sing with their heart, smile with kindness, share their ideas about showing God’s love with others, and love to serve and help with projects!

Sunday school service projects are a much bigger part of the curriculum than they were when Sarah started.

Sunday school students have wonderful opportunities to help others by serving and lending a helping hand. They may be little hands, but they have huge hearts and lots of enthusiasm. The kids bring their change for packaging food and are so excited that they get to help others! When we made cookies the students dove in to share with others. The children have amazing hearts and love to help others, so it is so wonderful for them to have opportunities to give!

Sarah acknowledges the many middle school and high school students who share their time each week to make Sunday school a fun and welcoming place for all the students.

They are amazing role models for our children, share their kind hearts and are a wonderful example of volunteering!

Sarah looks forward to seeing some new faces among the Sunday school volunteers this year.

Please join, all are welcome! When I first started, I had so many wonderful guides who helped me learn the ropes! The kids are so appreciative to have an extra set of hands to help with projects and they love to share their ideas with a listening ear! The parents are so appreciative, the kids are full of smiles, and it is heartwarming to hear children pray and sing together!

Coffee with a Cause

After a break over the summer, Lutheran

World Relief fair trade coffee, cocoa and

tea returns on Sunday, September 8

(when it will be at the Global Missions

booth at the Ministry Fair), and will be

available on the second Sunday of each

month throughout the school year.

The new Village of Hope Girl’s Club for

girls 10 and older met for the first time in

Look Me In the Eye

The Zion Book Club selection for Monday, September 9, is Look Me In the Eye by John

Elder Robison.

October Picture Directory Appointments

Many families have already been photographed for our new pictorial directory. If you did not have your photograph taken in July, please make an appointment during our fall session. We would like our new directory to include every member and regular attendee.

Fall photography dates will be Tuesdays through Fridays, October 1 through Friday, October 4 and October 8 through October 11 from 2pm to 9pm; and Saturday, October 5 and 12 from 10am to 4pm. Sign up is currently available online through Zion’s website as well as before and after worship services in September.

take time to stop and look at all, Zion,

for example, has to offer us. I am a

people person, so I have enjoyed getting

to know the other council members and

seeing how the church functions.

Through serving on the council, she hopes

to help make more Zion members aware

of all of the opportunities at Zion,

connecting and bringing members and

attenders together in faith and fellowship.

Outside of work and church, Alisa loves to

keep busy. She is participates in

community events like Concert in the

Park, Buffalo Days, Relay for Life,

Women of Today, and local youth

programs. Alisa is also a long time

member of the Community Education

Advisory Board.

I love being outside and being active. I

enjoy spending time with others, and

just plain people watching. My favorite

thing is to wake up on a sunny summer

morning and ask Jack, "What are we

going to do today?"

Fall is coming fast…

This year’s Harvest of Hands Event, a

huge fundraiser to feed the hungry, is just

around the corner on Saturday, Novem-

ber 2. Volunteers are working feverishly,

both at Zion and at home, to complete

crafts. The Harvest of Hands committee

has many projects in the works this fall,

and there are many ways you can help

make Harvest of Hands a successful

event.

The craft group continues to finish up

summer crafts and start some new pro-

jects for the fall. September craft projects

include cracked marble jewelry, and wire

ornaments and jewelry. Groups meet on

the second and fourth Tuesday morning at

9am, and on the second and fourth

Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Wilder-

ness Room at Zion through September,

and will meet every week in October. Eve-

ryone is welcome.

The Kick-off meeting for next spring’s

Truckload of Life Project will be held on

Wednesday, September 4, at 7pm in the

Wilderness Room.

A Hog Roast is being planned on Sunday,

October 6, as a fundraiser for the Truck-

load of Life Project. The hog roast in-

cludes opportunities for volunteers to set

up, serve, and clean up, and a list of re-

quested donations will be available in

September.

Gently used sweaters will be collected in

October.

Egg rolls for the Harvest of Hands event

will be made in October.

If you can fruits, preserves, jellies, or

salsas, dry flowers, and/or grow squash

and other products, please consider do-

nating some of your product to the sale.

sider making something for the

sale. Supplies and crafts for home pro-

Supporting a Worthwhile Cause

Brandi Breuer has been a member of Zion for as long as she can remember, since her parents, Rich and Joy Arens, moved to Buffalo from Wis-consin in 1987.

She lives in Buffalo with her husband, Joe, and two-year-old son, Gavin.

We love the community and feel it is a great place to raise our family. As a mom, I love the parks and biking/walking trails that are around Buffalo. The new “splash pad” has been a great family fun addi-tion to Buffalo.

Brandi has worked as a nurse for four years and is currently a Registered Nurse at Hennepin County Medical Center in the Parkside OB/GYN multispecialty clinic.

I love the variety of HCMC and being a part of such an amazing healthcare organization.

She also loves to read, go camping, and work on DIY projects.

I find peace with running and have recently gotten into canning & gardening. My favorite way to spend my time is with my family.

Brandi attended Sunday school and confirmation at Zion, volunteered as a Sun-day school teacher, then started volunteering for Harvest of Hands about 15 years ago.

At the time my mom was already involved with Harvest of Hands. I was encouraged to join after seeing her positive experience with Harvest of Hands. At first, I started as a greeter, and then began working as a cashier, most recently as the front-end coordinator. I have also done a variety of craft projects/ canned items for the event.

Harvest of Hands is important to Brandi because it not only benefits Zion but raises money to help feed to feed the hungry in our own community and around the world through partner organizations like the World Hunger Appeal through the Lutheran World Federation, the Buffalo Food Shelf, Heifer International, and Outreach International.

I am always surprised by the wonderful turnout of peo-ple that have made coming to the Harvest of Hands Bazaar a tradition. I love seeing all the hard work and planning of the year come together. It’s great to see the community come out to support such a wonderful and worthwhile cause [and the items] made by all the won-derful crafters of Zion throughout the year.

This year Brandi is focusing more on jewelry and knitting projects, and she won’t be work-

Since then the program has grown to where four quarterly meals have been added to the monthly breakfasts, and to date over 5,000 meals have been served to local residents at no cost.

Zion will again sponsor this year’s September breakfast at the Buffalo Community Center. The Social Ministry Committee asks the congregation to participate:

1. About 15 volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve the breakfast on Saturday, September 21, from 7-11am. Sign up online or at the information desk.

2. Even more important, if you don’t want to be "Martha" and serve the meal, you can be "Mary" ... come out to eat a good breakfast, mingle and interact with the people we serve.

The 2013-2014 school year will be their 4th year on the Taco Team. Danny and Jack also serve on the team and they've even recruited Doug’s mom to help on occasion.

They've been surprised at the increased number of people served, especially during Lent, but their team hasn't run out of food. They feel that the most important aspect of the meal ministry is the part it plays in the diet of many families.

It’s true when people say this may be the best meal they get all week. If we can help just one or two individuals get a healthy meal, then it’s worth it. It’s a wonderful part of the church ministries and since Zion is so large, it makes sense to do what we can.

Jodi says that serving on a supper team is fun, easy, not a huge time commitment and is a great opportunity to get to know others in the church.

Jodi has also taught Sunday school for a couple of years when the boys were younger. She’s also been involved with Bible studies and was part of the Life Keys class earlier this year. The family also contributes to the Easter and Christmas food baskets and the food packing project, and they have adopted a family in the Buffalo Rotary Christmas project for the past several years.
