He Made Me, He Loves Me.
It makes all the difference whether we view our lives as the result of some accident of nature or
whether we believe we live as the result of the personal love and direct action of Deity. If human life is
only the random accident of nature, then life is void of meaning beyond the here and now. Life is without
purpose. It is only something that has happened incidentally. I may tell myself that it makes a difference
how I live my life, or even that I have a choice in how I live my life. However, the truth is that if I am only
a random and accidental combination of chemicals, the illusion of choice is the result of the accidental
interaction of those chemicals which could behave in no way other than how nature itself causes them to
behave. Freedom of will, moral and ethical behavior are only suppositions that have no basis in reality.
If this was true, then people should easily be able to live without any qualms or misgivings with
respect to the morality of how they live. After all, what happens is just what happens by nature, and what
a person does is just what a person does. We do not equate moral value to the actions of birds, fish,
reptiles or beasts and neither do the animals equate moral value to their own actions. What logical sense
is there in attaching ethical value to the behavior of humans who are no different ultimately, than dogs?
So, a person should be able to live without regard to ethical or value judgments attached to his or her
behavior. However, we live believing that people make their own free choices and are responsible for
the choices they make. Parents do not bring up children to believe that it makes no difference how they
choose to live whether as mass murderers or as philanthropic physicians; or that they are not responsi-
ble for how they live because they really had no choice in the matter and in the end it will not matter any
way. We do not live that way and everything in our nature screams out against living that way.
I realize there are supposed exceptions to this and that some people seem to live their lives
without respect to conscience or morality. If that is the case, it is the exception and not the rule. Howev-
er the supposed consiousless (my coined word for it) often betray their conscious even as the Nazis did
in trying to hide their atrocities in World War II or as evil Muslim extremists attempt to justify their behav-
ior behind the will of allah today. People do not live their lives as though it does not matter what they do
to whom, or how they do it. And after all, you cannot blame them, they are only doing what random
chemicals cause them to do.
People who do not believe that life is the result of the love and purposeful actions of Deity have
generally not thought the consequences of their beliefs through to their logical end. Those who have,
realize that it means that life is ultimately meaningless. In the final analysis human life has no more value
than rocks and dirt because that is all there is. This is why some scientists can use the body parts of
aborted babies in laboratory experiments. People have no greater final value than lab rats by their way
of thinking. And, yes, this explains a lot of what is going on in our culture and in the world today. Secular
humanism has brought us to where we are and it is not a pretty picture. How you view life does make all
the difference and you can see the difference more every day.

How Would You Describe Jehovah God?
The Old Testament prophet or spokesman for God,
Isaiah, helps us answer that queson to a degree. We turn
to his book for some thoughts.
“You who bring good news to Zion,
go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to
Jerusalem,[a] li, up your voice with a shout, li, it up, do
not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your
God!” See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and
he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock
like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and
carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those
that have young. Who has measured the waters in the
hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand
marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the
earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the
scales and the hills in a balance?” 40:9-12
“A person too poor to present such an offering selects wood
that will not rot; they look for a skilled worker to set up
an idol that will not topple. Do you not know? Have you
not heard? Has it not been told you from the begin-
ning? Have you not understood since the earth was
founded? He sits enthroned above the circle of the
earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches
out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out
like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught and
reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. No sooner
are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do
they take root in the ground, than he blows on them
and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away
like chaff. “To whom will you compare me?Or who is
my equal?” says the Holy One. Li, up your eyes and look
to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings
out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of
them by name. Because of His great power and mighty
strength, not one of them is missing.” 40:22-26
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the ever-
lasng God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He
will not grow red or weary, and His understanding no
one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and
increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow red
and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those
who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will
soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow
weary, they will walk and not be faint. This is what God
the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretch-
es them out, who spreads out the earth with all that
springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life
to those who walk on it. 40:28-31/42:5 Walter
