September 11, 2001…On this date, kindergartners from all East Lansing Public schools gathered at Spartan Village School to celebrate friendship.
Marian Nelson entertained all of East Lansing’s Kindergartners with a puppet show and songs about Friendship.
The children visited Burcham Hills Retirement center. The children all met a new friend. They shared a snack, sang some songs and read their independent reading books to the Seniors. EVERYONE had a great time!
The children explore pattern in many ways in the beehive!
The bees went to Rowe’s Pumpkin Patch to celebrate the Fall Season!
Children in the beehive attend literacy centers while the teacher delivers small group instruction in literacy.
Writing begins with shaving cream! This provides a tactile medium for the children to explore writing!
Snack, Grandma, a piano and the block center all add ‘honey’ to the beehive!
The bees practice bus safety as part of the Kindergarten Michigan Model Health curriculum.
Mrs. Neugent came to the beehive! Each child made a placemat! The material had bees all over it! The children were curious to see how much material was left after each of us cut out a placemat!

The bees learned that exercise can be fun! We went to Court One East and did aerobic exercise!
The bees chose to celebrate the departure of their classmate, Yeo Jin, by having a sledding party on the hill at Spartan Village! Good by, Yeo Jin! We will miss you! Yeo Jin is leaving the United States to return to Korea!
